splinter cell HD bugged?

so i bought the splinter cell HD collection today, having never played a splinter cell game before ( a bit late, i know.) and i get to a point where i have to get a code to open a door. however i can't figure out how i'm supposed to open the menu where it is located. i've tried pressing every button and the closest thing i get is a regular start screen close to the one on the main menu. is there a fix for this? i've already tried uninstalling the game data and the patches.

EDIT: i'm referring to the first game. i just tried chaos theory and had no issues. haven't bothered with the second yet.

It would help if you started with which game you're on ATM.

F1 might work, if I recall? If you have thermal goggles you may not a code and will have to figure it out from the heat of the keys.

no, it's literally the first level. i'm so frustrated right now i paid like 40 dollars for this crap.

Oh yeah, the Georgia mission. I'm not sure if knowing the code alone will get you through because there might be a scripted event or requirement. If you're on the Georgia mission, you have to interact with a painting in the room with the keypad.

Unfortunately, I've heard that the trilogy wasn't exactly done all that well. Kind of like the Silent Hill collection, but not as buggy.

Let me know if that solution works because I remember being stuck in that very room, oh, about ten years ago

alright so eventually after deleting the game data and patch two more times i tried deleting the game and patch data, letting the game data reinstall, and then installing the patch and now i am able to access the menu that i couldn't get to before.
