I bought a wacom cintiq 24HD. Loooove it to bits, but it was more than one paycheque. More like the combined savings of several months.

I've been saving for months from money I raise outside of work, but I just bought a second car

Up until now the all mechanical work I could do on my car was limited to small stuff, since it's my daily driver, but now I can run wild.
My friend has an old BMW 3 series and hes looking at getting a new car. Im really tempted to buy it off him and strip it out and use it as a track car. Its rear wheel drive and VERY cheap so its ideal but its down on power (120bhp and my road car is 200bhp and lighter) it would also probably cost me a fair chunk of money to get any decent performance out of it especially if i wanted it to be a bit tail happy which it doesnt really have the performance for. It really needs a 325i lump to get what i want (which will cost more than the car)

I cant really splurge an entire paycheck. Damn impending responsibilities of being a home owner and all that comes with it.

I usually save up about 5-6,000 a year and go overseas. I didnt go last year and was in dire need of a new gaming rig, so I bought an X51. I know a lot of people have their beef with Alienware but its a really snazzy little machine and runs everything like a dream. That was the last expensive item I purchased for myself.

I just put in a pre-order for the Inquisitor's Edition of Dragon Age: Inquisition.
It hurts, but it hurts so good.

I've also been spending a lot of money on clothes, but that's because I've realised most of my stuff is just kind of everyday wear and I have nothing for fancier situations. It's basically "daily wear" and "hello red carpet". Nothing in-between.

Otherwise I can EASILY spend $100 a pop on book shopping expeditions, and it usually gets closer to $200.

Not really, considering the last time I splurged was buying a low-end vibe and a collar/leash. (Not for animals either.)

Either I'm joyless, or I'm really poor. I think I'll buy some duct tape to make a better wallet with my next paycheque.

That's a nearly-complete set of red ranger keys (only missing 3 of them). And it's got lots of other cool keys in it (notably Dragon Ranger/Green Ranger, and Dekamaster/Shadow Ranger. I really wanted those two.)

$200 after shipping, but totally worth it in my book, if only because that briefcase is going to make for an absolutely bawler display method.
I have no idea what that is but its beutiful....

Over the past year I've gotten a Vita, 3DS, PS4, upgraded my PC, and got tons of games thanks to my job.

I regret nothing.

Here, let me show you. FYI, the only context you'll need for this is that the Gokai Red Ranger and Gokai Silver Ranger have accidentally merged together, and they need that gun to separate.

I'm excited. I just bought myself an overclocked 780ti this morning. Finally getting another job, I decided to spoil myself a little. To some people, I just tossed $700+ out the window. To me, I just bought one of the most powerful gaming GPUs available. I haven't been this excited about a piece of hardware since I bought my first quad core CPU.

You could say I just made this thread to gloat, but that's not true. While I am a little giddy about it, I was really just curious: When have you "spoiled" yourself with a paycheck? Just buying something you REALLY wanted for a long time, something that wasn't necessary, but you got it anyway.

I know I'll probably be hopelessly drooling over benchmarks until my graphics card arrives, so I might as well read a few things while I'm at it.
Splurging a paycheck is stupid. A whole paycheck shouldn't go to an impulse buy, you should save up a savings and buy things you really want in reasonable amounts. Like I spent 1400 on my PC and that's a little under a paycheck but I didn't use one of my paychecks.

I know this seems moot and stupid but when I was 23 and spending an entire paycheck on something and being more or less paycheck to paycheck, even when doing so didn't put me out super hard, doing it the other way now feels so much better. Saving money is like a working out high, you eventually get really into it and try to max it out in strange ways.
Okay. Well, you can think it's stupid, but you don't know my life or where I'm at. I'm in a position where I can at least spend an entire paycheck on something and still be completely fine.
I worked hard. I took extra hours since my very first day, and have taken barely half the days off I would have had. When I got to work, I began working my ass off. I had a goal.
Yes, I'm a clerk, which many people don't consider to be very hard work, but when you actually work beyond of what is just expected of you for long hours, it can be pretty exhausting.
I'd say I earned my paycheck spending, and I spent it comfortably. There's nothing stupid or wrong about rewarding yourself, even the majority of your pay, assuming you're in a position to be able to do so like I am.

I still can't fathom that I've spend up to $500 on custom My Little Pony T-Shirts from WeLoveFine... all of them referencing something that's not pony-related, like Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Kill Bill, ACDC, FLCL, and Flaver Flav just to name some of my favorites off the top of my head...

Still do not regret those purchases... at all...

Someone's missed the point...

That said I've never spent a whole paycheck on any one thing (barring rent) but that's basically entirely because I don't earn enough to be able to afford to. That said I have made a fair few impulse buys over the last few years. I bought a TV in a late night trip to the supermarket only to end up buying a bigger TV a few months later. Also a new guitar, an awesome second hand amp, and a ps3.

Now I'm contemplating buying a 50" TV with my gf (largely because we happened to see one on offer), a PS Vita, a gaming desktop PC, and possibly a mid range gaming laptop if one comes up cheap. Although to be honest I'd be happy if I could afford 2/4 before the end of the year.

Bought a very mid-range HP laptop, brand new, with Windows 7 and 8.1 bundled with it to install whenever I want. I never had my own computer before that was actually worth two craps, much less a laptop, so that's a big deal. It's pretty darn versatile and durable. Not too great in terms of performance and I wish it doubled as a tablet, but those are really the only complaints I have with it.

Sometimes, I think we all underestimate just how utterly and completely useful having a laptop can be, even mid-range.

We all got a really good year-end bonus at work, so I went out and bought a MacBook Air and the S.H. Figuarts Iron Man and War Machine figures I've been eyeing up for months.

Still waiting for them to arrive from Hong Kong, I'm itching with anticipation! :D
Hate to be that guy but did you get them off of an ebay seller? The Chinese ones are usually Dodgy... and somtimes end up not being delivered at all, or being the wrong thing/a cheap fake. Speaking from a disappointing action figure buying experience here.
Fair enough if you've used the seller before but buy from Glorious Japan! their a lot more trust worthy and their imports are better policed.

I bought various action figures I probably shouldn't have as well, an I'm still waiting for them to turn up.

I've wanted one of these since I could form concious thought, the D-arts mewtwo is to the best of my knowledge the only mewtwo action figure available

I owned a load of power rangers when I was a kid. Now I own a detailed green ranger figure as a manchild.

Karmen rider is another guilty pleasure of mine. I already own karmen rider Dragon Knight and I'm planning on getting Wing knight and spear.

I did the same as you and brought a Cintiq 24HD. I believe that one Cintiq screen is worth more than the entire rest of my computer (which I also splurged on), but it is still more than worth it in my eyes. Both the Cintiq and PC were several months worth of paychecks, but I still think it counts for this thread. :D
