You can see it clearly in the background of The Truth.

MOST. EPIC. PREDICTION. EVER.Smack-Ferret said:Yeah now in AC3 we'll be assassinating solar flares.
Congrats for recognizing a mountain range, I was busy watching the naked, glowing people running like Ezio.Axolotl said:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilamanjaroomega 616 said:I didn't get Africa from that video but I didn't get aliens either, I didn't get aliens from the holographic woman either.

I'll admit, my first impulse was to not believe this, but, I know you're serious... GAH!Axolotl said:Yes.
Humanity was engineered by aliens from the sun from apes who were genetically modified using their powerful technology. The aliens used the Pieces of Eden to control humanity (using the redundant neurons they implanted. Then Adam/Eve rebel using the Pieces of Eden and there was a war between humans and the aliens the sun is used as a superweapon all the aliens die leaving only the vaults/PoE as their legacy.
Humanity then rebuilds itself, the aliens are remembered as gods. The Templars then find out about the PoE and attempt to use them to create a NWO but the assassins stop them repeatedly. However the sun superweapon is still active and Desmond must use the vaults to stop it, whilst the Templars continue to try and create their NWO.
Sure they can, sufficiently advanced technology.HUBILUB said:I don't care how many times I watch that ending, there is no scientific explanation as to how they can use magic.
So if I explain anything by saying "It's because of science" that is a scientific explanation? Funny, because I thought that a scientific explanation needs to be backed up by scientific evidence. Otherwise it's a pseudoscientific explanation.Axolotl said:Sure they can, sufficiently advanced technology.HUBILUB said:I don't care how many times I watch that ending, there is no scientific explanation as to how they can use magic.
Well it's better than explaining with scientific information because it means that in a few years it won't be outdated, a full up to date scientific explanation has a time limit on how long it can last before simply becoming wrong. Using the Sufficiently Advanced explanation keeps things just as justifiable without dating them.HUBILUB said:[So if I explain anything by saying "It's because of science" that is a scientific explanation? It would be best if they either settled with magic and having the superior alien race or whatever they where being real gods instead of just being seen like gods, or at least have the pseudoscientific explanations explained in a more subtle way. If you have such a massive pseudoscientific explanation as to why the world was created, the last thing you'll want to do is to have it as a plot twist in the very end of the game. It'll just leave some people furious because it makes everything up to that point seem pointless (example: ME).Axolotl said:Well it's better than explaining with scientific information because it means that in a few years it won't be outdated, a full up to date scientific explanation has a time limit on how long it can last before simply becoming wrong. Wow, you really expect a video game to sit and talk made up science to you until you know every little detail of how the entire fictional universe works? Of course you don't, cause it's a game, not a damn lecture, hence the light show to go with it when the woman showers you with metaphors. In case you forgot it's the middle child of a trilogy, the end of the second installment of anything is always like this, it leaves you with questions and the only way to get the answers is to buy the next one. It wasn't a little thing getting this information to Desmond either, that's why it's a plot twist.HUBILUB said:It would be best if they either settled with magic and having the superior alien race or whatever they where being real gods instead of just being seen like gods, or at least have the pseudoscientific explanations explained in a more subtle way. I know a theme in AC2 is realizing that Ezio was just a pawn the whole time and that everything he's done has been nothing but a very very vague hint at the story for AC3, but it felt like an extremely huge "Fuck you" to me. Everything I've done, all that I've played and now the game says that I was only supposed to do this little thing. It pissed me off, mostly because I think that AC2 had been a lot better if there was no Desmond at all. The story tries to be all indie and cool, with sci-fi and shit, but sometimes, they should just run the course and keep a consistent setting.
