Bane said that he wanted to truly break Gotham, making then think that they had a chance to fight back, for as he put it, what is despair without a little bit of hope? That's why the pit is considered Hell on Earth, escape is so close...yet so far. Also he wanted to torture Bruce.

So I'll be upfront in saying that I'm not big on Batman. I like the '89 one by Burton, the recent games and some of the comics.

Out of all 3 of the Nolan Batman movies, I thought this was the worst. I thought it was boring, too long, predictable, needlessly complicated and the pacing was tiresome.

Examples of it's predictability. When they went on about how Bane was supposedly the child of Ras Al Gul who escaped the prison. The entire time I was going "Uh..Ras Al Gul had a daughter named Talia. I swear if it turns out to be her behind everything I'm going to throw a shit fit". Sure enough, it was her.

Batman not actually dying. Yeah, like they were actually going to do that. That would have been ballsy.

The detective turning out to be Robin. The whole time I was thinking. I bet this guy might turn out to be Robin, but his name is wrong. Then at the end, "Oh, you're name is Robin". Seriously, fuck off.

I even managed to predict exactly what the formula was going to be long before the movie was released.

Pacing. I hated this the most because I felt that it moved so fast that it made it difficult to get what was going on. This was a problem I had with the previous 2 films, especially Begins. I swear I had accidentally skipped the beginning of that movie because of how poorly paced it was.

Also, Bane was lame. Some giant monster of a man with a scary-ish mask who can crush people with his bare hands and then you hear some poncy British like accent come out of his mouth. His voice was annoying and I hated it.

The thing is with The Dark Knight Rises, I can't think of a single thing about that movie I can honestly say I liked. The previous two there was at least one thing I could say I enjoyed about them. Begins I loved Liam Neeson as Ras Al Gul and Dark Knight I loved Heath Ledgers part as the Joker. I seriously can't think of one good thing to say about Rises. I would say that Anne Hathaway in that tight black costume was nice, but even then it didn't look that good.

My two cents.

Well no offense pal, it does kind of seem like you're trying to bait them, especially with that.

It's not bait if you don't respond to it. Unless you have something to add to the discussion, there's no need to reply to it. Some people could interpret your quick jump to reply to it as projecting. So if it doesn't affect you, then don't bother.

I have met several people who get all upset over the fact that I didn't enjoy the movie, as if it were impossible for people not to enjoy it and that I'm somehow wrong. So excuse me for being a bit preemptive in assuming that I might get those same people.

Ha, I don't remember that line, that may have been when I stepped out to tend to my bursting bladder. Makes more sense now, although I believe this means Bane has never read the "if I were the evil Overlord" list.

Yeesh, people always assume that if I reply to anything then I'm getting all defensive. Yeesh. I'm just pointing out that your review was less than polite and that little P.S. came off as a "come at me bro" which made it look like you were looking for a fight. I just wanted to point that out.

Because it does sound defensive. As I said, if it doesn't affect you, there's no reason to reply to it. Any rational person who isn't a fan boy isn't going to care, nor should they care.

I didn't like the movie, I apologize if "I think it sucked" is less than polite. Who's feelings are going to get hurt over it? Well, aside from those people who were sending death threats to the critic for panning a movie they hadn't seen yet.

Having an opinion different doesn't matter. Hell I'm not at all "stunned, or shocked" that you have a different opinion. Don't act high and mighty because of a opinion. It makes you look like a self righteous douche hipster. Also that attitude invalidates you having an opinion and just looks like an attempt to "Stand out." Even if you truly didn't like the movie. Which is fine. Don't try to make that opinion sound special. Problem is not you not liking the movie. It's just how you take pride in how you don't like it.

OT: I liked the movie. It isn't as good as the Dark Knight but that's a hard act to follow. It easily blows Batman Begins away. Only problem was the pacing, Bruce and Tate sexing it up randomly, and Blake being able to find out who Batman is by instinct. I liked the first fight with Bane and Batman especially with the lack of music. I hoped that the back-breaking scene would be more dramatic but it was a nice homage to "Knight Fall." Camera angle and back breaking was near exact to the comic.

Christopher Nolan can go to his grave knowing he made one of the best trilogies of all time.

There's saying "I didn't like it," and then there's saying "this piece of shit made me want to throw up". You were a little closer to the second, which tends to get people angry more, especially when coupled with that P.S. which, like I said, kind of feels like a "come at me bro". Also if a rational person that isn't a fanboy isn't going to care then, frankly, why did you even bother typing out what you thought? The point of forums is to talk about things in open ended discussions and debates, not just posting something and giving people a hard time for replying to them. I'm just saying "it doesn't affect you" just seems like a variation of "mind your own business" and I'm not going to lie, "mind your own business" is THE weakest excuse that I have ever heard in my life. In my opinion anyway. I spotting something that kind of irritated me in your post and I pointed it out. I don't mean any offense.

I by no means meant for my opinion to be more special than someone else's. I haven encountered several people who take offense to my opinion on the Batman series as a whole and shrug it off as "You're just a hater" or in your case" You're just a hipster douche" rather than actually discussing said opinion.

Enjoyed the movie and disagree with my opinion? Fine, you can tell me you disagree all you like and counter my reasons with your own. Personal attacks don't elevate you any higher than me.

So please, next time have something constructive to say if you want to reply to me because so far, all I've gotten is the generic "you're a hater" esque replies.

I was under the impression that this thread was about your opinions on the film. I also said that I enjoyed the other films to a certain degree and that this one is the only one I thought was actually bad.

I'll remove it then. I only meant to point out that if it really doesn't bother you, you shouldn't be compelled to reply to it.

Way to take what I said wrong. Did I say I took offence at your opinion? No. I took offence at you just baiting people just cause "I have a different opinion. Come at me bros!" That was not a personal attack by any means. Did I tell you to go die in a fire or something? No I didn't. Don't put words in my mouth. I never said that you personally are a hipster douche. I implied that your comment will put that little thought in people's minds when you bait them like that.

Hell I was pretty constructive for such a short comment. I'm not discussing your opinion. That's not my intent. You egging on people just cause is not a good thing to do. That honestly does make you seem high and mighty when you do that.

And this is a forum where the point is to discuss things such as your opinion. That includes replying and going back and forth about them.

Also, no offense, but I don't think you really got my gripe. I didn't have a problem with your opinion. I had a problem with your attitude. Frankly people who just talk like that like they're looking for a fight on the forums just...bug me. I don't care what it's about. No offense.

I never intended to egg people on because I assumed that rational people wouldn't care, because they're rational. Your post gave me the impression that you were making assumptions yourself by saying that I'm attempting to stand out or "it makes you sound like a hipster douche". So I'm sorry for taking it the wrong way as I live in an area with some very insufferable people who will banish you the moment you say anything negative about these movies.

As I mentioned, my intention wasn't to bait people. I live in an area with a lot of the kind of people I can only describe as douche bags or self proclaimed "Guidos". These are the kind of people who think that comic books are lame or for losers but will bang on and on about how sick "Insert comic book movie here" is, regardless of how bad it actually is. So I get a lot of "You're a hater" responses with no real defense.

Now, maybe I dislike these movies because I'm a comic book purist and it's possibly the reason why I enjoy the Marvel movies more. Also it's possible that I can't take any super hero with the same degree of seriousness that they intend with Batman. If you ask me, I can't take someone who flies around in their underwear dressed as a bat all too seriously. Going back to my preference to the Marvel movies, I prefer them because they realize it's a comic, and as such are just as fun as they are serious.

The only character I can really take seriously is the Punisher, partly because he's the kind of comic book character that could actually plausibly exist somewhere.

There doesn't seem to be much love for Bane's voice/accent. Personally, I loved it. It was so distinct and different.

I loved it as well. But I only hope that in the DVD/Blu-Ray that Nolan keeps scenes that have the original sound of his voice (like the opening scene leak), it was a lot harder to understand but just as menacing.

Original voice? Can you provide a video of what you mean?

Here [http://www.tagtele.com/videos/voir/76551]. It's possible I was misremembering, cause it doesn't sound that different, maybe less clear though (can't tell if that's cause of the bootleg quality or not).
