I figured out the twist behind the Arkham Knight's identity as soon as my friend told me that the twist was stupid (he included no details). I only had to make two guesses: the first was a resurrected Joker (since the previous game featured the introduction of Ras Al Ghul), and the second was Jason Todd.
I don't really get why they had to make another persona for Jason Todd rather than making this a Red Hood game. If anything, you'd think that DC would be grateful for them exposing more people to Red Hood. But no, we have to have this big, dramatic secret (that gets deflated the second you hear any of the Arkham Knight's dialogue, but whatever).

Not to be that guy but I figured it out be for the game was even out. Heck I had an idea by e3 and it was more put in place as time passed.
i knew it was him the moment gamestop announced the pre-order DLC had the Red Hood.. he's the only character that woudl want revenge on Batman for failing to save him dying at the hands of the Joker... granted he died by Joker beating Jason Todd with a crowbar and exploding a warehouse he was in, in the comics but the Arkham Universe doesn't follow the comics exactly.. so that and the REed Hood being in the game made it pretty obvious who the Arkham Knight was..
I havent payed any attention to Arkham Knight or played it but just glancing at the title for this thread made me think 'Jason Todd' before I even clicked.
When they announced the Red Hood pre-order bonus. You could see the similarities between the two characters from a mile away. Besides, why would they introduce the Red Hood as a playable character if he didn't have a role in Arkham Knight, especially considering that he was never even mentioned in the other 3 games?
In other news, it was such a shame that they basically turned the Arkham Knight into such a whiner after they unmasked him. Just made him sound like someone with daddy issues, as opposed to the guy that could control a whole army and stage a city-wide takeover.

I was hoping if they decided to cheap out and use an established character it would turn out "Arkham Knight" was "The Wrath" a villain I never felt got enough credit, attempts to re-introduce him (very briefly) after the old "Player On The Other Side" story sort of ruined the point.
The Wrath was basically an anti-Batman. His parents were criminals who were killed by a police officer during a heist and swore revenge as opposed to Batman's parents being killed by criminals and swearing revenge as a result. Batman travelled around the world training with the best people he could find. The Wrath did something similar, learning from the greatest criminals he could find. So basically you had a guy running around out to kill what he saw was a corrupt system of law enforcement (specifically commissioner Gordon) the same way Batman had an obsession with stopping crime. Skill wise they were different but so evenly matched the only way one of them could win is if the other made a mistake. In his original version he wasn't around long, but it was interesting how they did a montage recapping Batman's background while showing The Wrath's equivalent, showing how he developed to be Batman's equal and opposite number.
I figure if anyone was going to show up and flame Gotham as a surprise in a storyline this would be the guy, especially after one of the many reboots. He's a character who was very much created to be able to do anything Batman can even if he goes about it a bit differently so as a general rule if people remembered him he can work well as an arch-enemy / master planner type, albeit he doesn't have any particular obsession with Batman if I remember, which could arguably make him more dangerous than some of the other villains, he's out to destroy the system that killed his parents, Batman is simply in his way much like how villains are in Batman's way to destroying crime.
That said, yeah The Arkham Knight was a disappointment. I was sort of disappointed because they kind of impressed me with "Arkham City" when they dusted off Hugo Strange who is a Batman enemy people tend to forget about entirely.

I just got to the big reveal at the fight, and up until that point, I kept thinking, 'Please don't be Jason, please don't be Jason.' Even after the scenes in the studio, even after all the little taunts, even after all the things that were slapping me in the face, I kept hoping they wouldn't go there.

Yeah, I haven't even gotten to the reveal but I knew with certainty it was Jason. I was hoping for awhile it might be Damien, since these games seem to take place after Batman and Talia have a relationship or at least know eachother. The Knight's anger/temper-tantrums at his lieutenants reminded me of a spoiled brat throwing a fit, so I felt like it might have been him.
But still...just the whole scene in Ace Chemicals gave it away beyond anything. When the Knight is openly telling his men where to shoot. It's like yeah...only Jason would be that arrogant and angry.
