The stupidest part is when the mages kidnapps someone "of your people". Hurr Durr we wunted you not to hunt us why u support medridith?

WELL I FUCKING DIDN'T BUT I'M SURE AS HELL GOING TO NOW
I agree. That bit was hilariously retarded.
I still sided with the mages even after that (I'm on my second playthrough), and I think I'll side with the mages again... maybe. I hate Orisino or whatever his name is. He almost made me regret siding with the mages, because... well, just side with the mages. You'll find out. What made it even more stupid was the fact that I was playing on normal, so the templars he was fighting went down fairly easily, so that made what he did...

ENTIRELY POINTLESS.

However, it didn't bother me much, it's just one more thing to kill. Also, I didn't put together the letter from O and Orsino until after I had beaten the game. I'm gonna side with the Templars this time, because they are less insane overall.

The third act is not the best written, and Bioware could have done better. I do like the game, but there are definitely some criticisms, all of which stem from Bioware only have 1.5 years to develop DA2.

Really liked the game up to the last act, picked the mages then tried the templars end fights were identical. But other than that best moment was Fighting the Fighting the Areshok, hurt me a-lot to kill my favorite character.

I have to go work for Orsino next, how far am I from the end? I'm trying to get as far as I can without reaching the point of no return so I can actually beat the High Dragon.

You're pretty much at the end. I think there is like 1 more main plot mission after you meet with Orsino and then you are at the point of no return.
Wow, Chapter 3 is pretty short then...there weren't even that many quests to go along with it other then the companion ones. I think I have to do Merills and...one other, I believe? I want to say Avaline.

Oh, Fenris is a dick too. He killed his sister with no hesitation on his quest. That was kind of a shock.

All of it, from start to finish. I can't even understand the amount of bad press its getting. A few minor constructive criticisms, yes. But over all one of the better games I've played in a while.
Basically, this.
DA2 FTW
This :p

I love the game on my second play through now, very tempted to replay DA:O just to see some more out comes.

Chapter 3 is pretty short but all in all my first playthrough took me 45 hours to complete and I missed a couple of sidequests and subsequently a few achievements. All in all I love the game and think it is way better than Origins. Opinions vary of course though. I loved Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age 2 feels like a fantasy version of it. :D
I'm on like...35 I think now. I agree though, it was a fun playthrough. Still need to go through a few more times to see if I can get the rest of the achievements. I was kind of a Neutral party this game, so I haven't gotten any of the "Side with the Templar 5 times" or "Side with the Mages 5 times" achievements, didn't gain the respect of the Arishok, among some others. Need to do those yet. I'm going to play through with a Templar Sword and Board specialization and see how that goes.

I pretty much enjoyed every bit of it after 2 finished playthroughs(Male Warrior and Female Rogue),there are so many memorable moments and it really kept me going until the end.

I started to replay Dragon age Origins + dlc's and expansions to see what different outcomes may happen when I want to start my third playthrough as a mage.

My game glitched when fighting the high dragon that was not funny :/

I really like this game though most characters are really insane/crazy. The only "normal"one is Varric. I love his banter with Merril (in act 1 he gave her some string to not get lost in lowtown, in act 3 she wants to return it because she doesn't get lost anymore(yeah i listen to really a lot).
Fenris would like kill everyone if he just suspects he/she is a mage (i did prevent him from killing his sister).
Merril is the ignorant bloodmage who's decisions really ends in bad ways. Anders (who was fun in Awakening) isn't in control of his mind but justice/vengence is(blowing up a building with the only SANE person in the bloody town).
Isabella is more or less a pirate whore that would jump you if she get the chance although i found it easy to get her max friendship so she came back to me near the end of act 2.
Sebastian is more or less normal and i really understand his reaction in the end.

The bloodmage card was used too much it felt like almost every mage in Kirkwall was a bloodmage(getting harder and harder to side with the mages). Though siding with the Templers is not easy as well since Meredith is a real ***** and every time she opens her mouth i wanna stab her.

I agree act3 is the worst every time i picked an option i wasn't taking sides and then the templar mages group accused me of doing so i was like what the hell are you talking about.

The quest from Flemeth was a bit funny. If you killed her in DA:O she will be still alive due to that one if you didn't would those 2 pieces merge together again or do we have 2 watches of the wild then. Also i almost expected with Merril's side quests to finish the mirror and Morgana stepping out (let her go in Witch hunt).

My second playthrough will be on the rogue siding with the templars. If the next dragon age game (if there ever will be one) I will make the perfect backstory with the mage(first playthough was with the warrior).

Well I just got into Act 3 not too long ago, I figured i'd side with the mages (seeing as how I am one...) But I somehow managed to miss out on the pirate chick (if someone could tell me where/when I could get her that would help :D) But so far my only real complaint is Act 1 being kinda boring seeing as how its just fetch quest after fetch quest. But my only REAL complaint is all the reused environments, I felt kinda cheated when I saw them being used so frequently :( But otherwise I really like the game.

Also would like to point out my current desire to have a DA:O environments with DA2 combat (I think that would be pretty awesome, but hey, thats just me)

Yeah you can easily miss Isabella.
You can recruit her during first act in the Pub but only after you recruited Anders.

Awesome, thank you. Now all I need to do is decide who my next play-through will be as, Warrior or Rogue? As well as which play-through will be the funny guy, and who will be Mr.Angry Pants :p

I'll just repost this here from another thread:

Concerning the quest with the Kirkwall Killer (the one who eventually kills your mother):

Wasnt the Killer Count whatshisname where the Templar soandso sends you in act 2 because he has a hunch?
In my first playthrough i let that Count live and i'm pretty sure he's the one killing my mother later. So on my second playthrough i chased him thorugh his mansion and eventually killed him only to see my mother die later anyway. Like WHAT THE FUCK?
Was i confused and that Count wasn't the killer or did the game replace the count with a random NPC just to show me whatever i do, it doesn't matter?

It wasn't the Count in my game, it was a random Blood Mage who was sending flowers to random people who looked like his ex-wife, to take parts from them. I let the Count escape first, got into the ambush, told the Templars about him, then ended up having the mother killed by the other guy. If you let the Count live, is he actually the killer? Damn, that sucks. :(

I'm not sure, that's why i'm asking. Could be a random NPC either way that just looks pretty similar to that Count. Pretty fucking terrible solution for a story that arcs over all chapters and is supposed to impact on you by killing a important NPC:

Seriously? Aveline is probably the most "real", fleshed out character in the whole game, unlike the oversexed (Isabella) or outright retarded (Merrill) females in the game.

Her advancement throughout the story of the game, unlike the other characters who apparently don't change at all and have no personal agenda over the years makes me believe she either was the first character designed for the game and the others were just rushed in or the guy writing her (the same guy who wrote Garrus for Mass Effect btw) is a genius who really cares for his characters.
I found Aveline to be my favourite companion, not to mention the most useful (I played rogue first time so I needed a tank).

But even the characters that were fairly one-note (Fenris, Isabela) had great interaction and dialogue with other party members. I basically considered Aveline, Varric and Hawke to be the main characters with everyone else as the supporting cast.

I thought it was some random bloodmage as well. That count is trying to find the murderer as well (that is why the Templer saw so many leads ending at him. He was trying to trap the murderer as well). Must say that the death of you mother was really a creepy and sad. Though when Gamlen told me she received those white flowers i was like OH SHIT not my mom.

It was a little sad for my character though lost Carver to the darkspawn , my sister in the deep road and mom to the sicko :/ (and my relationship with Gamlen wasn't that good either.

Most used team in my first playthrough me(warrior) , Fenris , Varric and Anders/Merril

I didn't really like Gamlen, but after you become Champion, he apologized and said that he was sure my mother would be proud. I went from all Hostile dialog to Kind ones with him from then on. Poor guy. :(
