Ever since the first plot twist, people have been spoiling plots for other people. People also came up with terms that are associated with spoilers, such as 'Dumbledore dies' or 'the truck is full of sand'.

What do you use?

Well, I don't usually like spoilers but I do enjoy telling people what will happen at the red wedding.

I never spoil anything. Or at least I try not to. Hell, I still refer to the Aeris thing in FFVII as "the end of Disc 1" despite everybody knowing what happened. This stems from having Harry Potter 4 - 6 ruined for me before I read them.

What bugs me most are those spoilers which everyone is assumed to know about, like the endings of classic works. One week ago, while holding an interesting lecture on King Lear, which we were supposed to read our literature teacher asked "...and in the end - wait. Should I tell you how it ends?" I immediately shouted "No!" and he was nice enough to respect that. For everyone reading a classic, there will be one time that's the first time.

The surprise ending of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde is ruined for everyone these days, because nowadays everyone knows what the connection is between the mild-mannered Dr Jekyll and the horrible Mr Hyde.
They're the same person.

Generally with anything on which the statute of limitations has run out. "Rosebud was the sled", for instance.

when i went to see dark knight, there was a three-hour line into the theater. after the movie ended i turned to the crowd and shouted "hey guys, wanna hear major spoiler?" As i saw the throng of people tense with anger and preparing to assault me, i uttered one sentence, for all to hear

Bruce Wayne is Batman!

WHAT NOOOO!!!!

Ok to be serious, thats what the spoiler box was created for, soo it doesnt but people can if they feel the need. I tend to not ruin the ending, unless its a really bad movie or book.

actually one of the best spoilers i came up was just after episode 3 came out, someone asked how it was and not to ruin everything and i said "well it was good, Anakin become Darth Vader"

And they didn't know that before!? Wow...

Also, I don't really care for spoilers. I think that a good book should be good even if you know how it ends...

I always try and avoid spoilers...
but theres always that one person who conveniently forgets that YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW!

However, Sometimes I cannot stop myself from spoiling people in person. I find it so hard to say 'just watch/read for yourself'. Mainly because they pester me and force me to want to be evil and spoiler them :p
