ohhhh..that fucking song....

you can hate anything if it gets enough playtime (over and over and over...)
I don't think I've heard it enough times to hate it yet (don't listen to the radio) :p

And in the interest of keeping people from getting too melancholy & depressed, here's their equal and opposite (with regards to tone) number.

Coldplay time;

I don't have any links at the moment, but "Two Steps from Hell" has fantastically epic music along the lines of movie scores. Hell, they even did music for a few movies...

Just recently I have discovered the absolute masterpiece that is Stary Olsa (Стары Ольса) - a medieval/folk group from Belarus. They play middle ages and renaissance era songs from the old Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Some of the most epic, passionate and emotional music I have ever heard. Absolutely brilliant. Here are some of the standout tracks I've so far heard.

This one is actually their version of the 'Saltarello'.

So yeah, if you enjoy middle ages and renaissance music at all, I simply cannot recommend these guys enough. They are truly deserving of the proper usage of the word - epic!

Ahh Coldplay, the musical equivelant of a beige wall with some stockphotos on it. All props to Chris Martin though; he's managed to make millions out writing basically meaningless, agressively medicore drivel. Lets have something that doesn't go down like a bread-sandwhich;

Well hey, this is the thread for posting random songs we like. I love 'em, personally. Viva la Vida's in my top 5 favourite albums, can't stop listening to it.

Anyway, back to da music. Random songs this time!

My captcha was fucking moving. What the fuck?

EDIT: Also, that song you linked is one of the messiest and most ugly I've ever heard. Vocals are arright, though.

EDITEDIT: Also, I take umbrage with the "meaningless" modifier. X&Y was meaningless drivel.

I wanted to rep Ben Folds, but I couldn't decide which song. Wanted to go with "Rockin' the Suburbs" but in honor of Ben Folds Five coming back together:

It always comes back to this song anyway.

One of the few songs in the world that makes me cry (you have to know and understand the lyrics to really appreciate it). Band is amazing too. Only discovered them just over a year ago but this album has become one of my favourites ever. Saw them live in February and I got shivers when they played this.

Amazing band. Over the past year this album has become one of my favourites of all time as well. It's best listened to in full (and lying alone in the dark) so this is the first of the three tracks (still amazing, although it's the weakest(it feels wrong to suggest it might be weak in any way)). I can just lie down and let it overwhelm me, paying attention only to the music and I never get tired of it. It's incredibly dark, captivating, alien, desolate and beautiful. I'm always a little sad when the album ends.

Love this even more than their old stuff.

This song makes me feel like I'm in a broken space ship, alone, drifting off into the abyss.
