I've noticed most people don't seem to have played the original 3 spyro games. I was just wondering what the escapist thinks of them. I personally liked them a lot.

I didn't like them, I just didn't like the way they controlled. tbh, that's all I really remember.

I've only played the first one, basic story but awesome gameplay to make up for that. I might have to play it again soon.

A friend of mine is a big fan of Spyro, because Spyro was his first game. I personally think it was good. Not great, but fun.

The spyro games are amazing. They are what family friendly games should be.

Those ring time trials are hella fun.

Played the original three... first one was the only good one. The second and third were certainly fun, and good for the odd nostalgia trip, but the first is still my favorite of the Spyro titles as a whole.

I'm also one of the old-school fans (Spyro was my first game ever) who actually enjoyed the Legend series, so maybe my opinion means nothing.

They were the first games I've ever owned. I remember finding the 3rd game (I can't remember the name of it...return of the Dragon, maybe?) and through having no friends managed to collect all the gems and dragon eggs on every single level, and unlocking the secret bonus world (which was a ***** in itself.) I remember it taking forever to beat the yetis in that sledding challenge, and then I beat all the other worlds rather quickly, until I got to the final boss. I had over 50 lives, and every single one was lost to that damn flying saucer thing. I also forgot to save out of anger, so all of that progress was lost, and I never played it again. It was devastating...at the time, of course. I mean, I was only nine at the time, but watching what I had created dissapear was truly a heartbreaking experience.

Funny, I haven't even thought of Spyro in years, partially due to the fact that the games that came out afterwords were a disgrace to the once revered name. I think its time play my childhood again.

Thanks!! :D

They were fun platforming games. I have more fond memories of Spyro than I do the original Crash Bandicoot games. Been thinking about grabbing one of the newer Spyro games...

Owned the first one, I loved it. I always hated that blue dude who stole all the dragon eggs. It felt so good to hit him.

Never played them, and that's odd seeing how much I love dragons.

It's one of the gaps in my "gaming portfolio" as it were.
The other big one being any Metal Gear Solid title.

The first three Spyro games were amazing. I keep meaning to play them again. I got them all off PSN, so I'm sure I will.

Those were some good times.
I think I'll dig up my Spyro games again. Needed something to whittle the time away with anyway.

EDIT/update: Found them! Going to spend the next while playing them all over again. :D
