I was going to type something witty, but I cant think of anything as Im still laughing about this.

But 80,000 views in just the Japanese market? What does that say?

Actually, Im now curious about why it would be watched 80,000 times... what does that say about me?

*Edit*

Just watched it... and 80,000 does seems like a low number...

Not that there's anything wrong with watching an imaginary girl Aya Brea shower 80,000 times, but it's a little embarrassing to admit.
Edited for correctness. There is nothing embarrassing about having an attraction to Aya Brea, the queen of female characters. The people who should be embarrassed are Square. They are the prime fool, laughing at the fool that follows them.

Out of morbid curiosity I googled the video and watched it. As a piece of eye candy I'm not sure why you wouldn't just watch some regular nudy clip rather than spending however much that must of cost to animate it in 3D. But I guess if you spend 30+ hours or whatever playing a game with a single protagonist then you can grow attached to them and the pervy gamer will specifically want to see that character naked, not just some random porn chick. This extends to many elements of popular culture, so I guess it's not as low brow as say DOA: Extreme Beach Volleyball where it's all virtual eye candy with no context.

Aww, Square Enix, you meanie! =P

Still, it's not really surprising, is it? I mean, before we all point the finger and laugh at the Japanese gamers being teased by Square Enix, let us remember the reaction of western audiences to certain scenes in more than one Bioware game =P

Thats absolutely hilarious and if it was anywhere but japan I would say disturbing. But since it is japan im kind of surprised that the number of views is so low.
Seems to me that in comparison to what they put out over there a shower scene would be pretty meh for them.

Ha ha ha ha ha! This is awesome! It's like Mass Effect 2, only better!
Now I can't wait for the inevitable Fox News broadcast of how 3rd Birthday is about having sex with monsters.

Anyways, youtube exists for a reason and my faith is slowly being restored into Square Enix.

I can't be the only one who thought "SQUARE ENIX IS WATCHING YOU MASTURBATE" when I saw this. I just can't. Does not compute.

I checked it out on Youtube. While it must be very rewarding for some gamers, it's kind of a disappointment.

Well played Square Enix, that's actually bloody hilarious, I didn't they had it in them to do that.

But only 80,000? I'm kinda disappointed in that number, I had high expectations for those guys.

I'm sure they are....erm, working on that.

Why would people watch that 80,000 times?

...I expected at least a couple hundred thousand!
Not every player has a Square Enix account, so they can't watch everybody watching this scene.

And now that this news is out, nobody is every going to get a Square Enix account every again :p

Um... YouTube?

I like it when developers watch our gameplay habits so they know when I quit playing their crappy game a quarter of the way in.

Of course, with YouTube--if you want to unlock infinite viewings on a larger screen--now Google knows how much you've been watching the shower scene (once was plenty for me).

But then again, Google knows all the latina bubble butts in slingshot monokini's... or whatever... that everybody has been watching over and over and I doubt they really care.

Anyway, yeah, no complaints from me. Go SE!
