To all swordsmen out there, start plugging your school of swordsmanship here and your favoured weapon. Let's keep this civilised, so (metal) bladed weapons only.
(Fictional allowed, because I require some amusing.)
I have only one fighting style. It's called kickinthenutsandrun-fu. It's like kung fu, but only has one move. It has no room for weapons any other than boots.
I recently found out my sowrd is based on the one from Highlander, my friend likes to get drunk at my house and run about with it shouting "there can be only one!"
Well, I don't exactly have a single school of swordsmanship... I've trained in foil fencing and kenjutsu (both briefly). I think I'm most lethal with the bits and pieces I've put together for historical rapier fencing, though. No formal training in that regard, just a lot of study and practice.
...but if anyone brings full plate, I'm bringing my .45.

I was never allowed to own a sword bc my parents didn't feel that the ninja threat I kept warning about was pressing enough. I did however get a boken, a boken that has broken everyone elses boken. SO, my style is swing hard and often ftw!
While I have only ever used wooden ones I am rather fond of Tonfa which can come in a bladed variety. I tend to use them as a way of strengthening my normal fighting methods. Getting punched hurts, getting punched with a sword hurts more!
*ahem* I feel obligated to correct you... it's bokken (I could be a complete arse and spell it in hiragana, but I is got no Japanese setting). Anyway, I've taken to calling it a 'bokuto'. And I've taken up kenjutsu again in a big way i.e. bruises on my collars and shoulders and aching arms. Still, happokiri FTW!

Bastard Sword circa 1600's Europe, preferably German or English. Talhoffer method.
Describable as as much violence as I can pack into as few movements as possible, as fast as i can, untill you die.
edit* Can I wear Full-Plate? It is a weapon system unto itself so your ruling.
I have learned a bit of fencing with old german Weapons, Shortsword, Longsword and the Zweihänder. The latter can inflict heavy damage. I'll make so make dents in your cheastplate that you wont be able to breathe
Theres a chapter of Schola St George nearby, so what I've learned mostly comes from Fiore dei Liberi's texts. Also I have learned some inayan escrima and jujitsu as well. I think whats most important is to learn a wide variety of different systems, its cool to see where their intersections are and it gives you more of an opportunity to develop your own style.
Edit: Oh! And favorite weapon, forgot that. I love my kukri dearly. Cuts like a boss

Ha, I am a black Boot in Kickinthenutsandrun-fu. I find it has so many uses beside fighting, my favourite being the ability to bring Philosophy graduates down to size,
"But How do you know if everything we experience is not real, man, for example, How do I know you're real?"
"Because I can affect you like this- Hi-Ya!" *then around the room was heard the sound of 1000 tiny sperm cry out and being silenced.*
Ok, now that that's over with, On Topic, I recently was trailing round the ARMA website, and found this beauty - Genuine 16th Century sword. (I've posted it two or three times already here, whenever I can find an excuse:
It combines the thrusting capabilities of a straight, double edged sword, with the aerdynamic and cutting ability of a curved blade. Fantastic. I have no idea how you would fight with it, but I would love to learn.
