I have decided to "replay" the first STALKER game, so i am asking you guys, what mods should i install?

I was thinking maybe installing a merchant mod and one to increase the max weight of stuff i can carry.

I generally just recommend the 'Complete' mod. I know quite a few people seem to have a vendetta against the mod but personally I've found it strikes a solid balance between keeping with the original game, improving it, and just generally making the game more entertaining. Complete mod also makes the STALKER games look amazing, in many ways some of the best looking games out there. The environments and environmental effects like weather are just breathtaking!

Easy to download and install too, which is nice. To be honest however I should add it's been quite some time since I browsed mods for the original Shadow of Chernobyl, I've mostly been playing Call of Pripyat myself which I'm much more familiar with the various mods for.

Otherwise I don't generally use weight mods myself, I like having that sort of 'loner in the wasteland' feeling and having the scrounge and conserve weight I've always felt adds to that feeling.

I can't remember all the mods I have tried but there is the AMK mod that changes things up drastically. Might not be good for your first time though as you can get caught in an army assault on your starting location right away or caught in a field full of zombies in the pitch black night. It's tough but the advantage is hat they are not necessarily focus on you so you can evade any chaotic situations or create them to use as a distraction.

Their is another one that is similar but different that starts with an 'O", I believe. Another mod takes place after the main game. It is kind of like the idea for Call of Priyat.

That mod looked really cool until I read '?Repetitive? NPCs will now only say their lines once (such as the ?Get out of here, stalker? line)'. Why would you remove the best bit of the game?!

Oblivion Lost? That's what I'm using on my playthrough right now.

The other one is Prioboi Story maybe? I haven't tried that but it's supposed to be good.

I think you should use LURK, which decreases the amount you can carry, and ups the graphics a lot, and adds a lot of new weaponry, and removes the artifacts as buffs, they are nothing but money if you can reach them and sell them.

That...is pretty freaking bad-ass.

I bought Stalker during the Christmas sale but never really did anything with it. The game isn't ugly without it but it does show it's age. This Mod makes it look pretty freaking cool so now I just need to get the graphics card to use it to it's full potential (I just started PC gaming; I own this, Operation Flashpoint, and that's about it).

If you think Complete is pretty, check out LURK man.

Those are the ones. I never tried the two though. It would be nice if there was a mod comparison list to understand what each do compared to the other.
