STALKER Series. Which to Buy First?

I recently got a gaming computer with a Nvidia 9400GT, 4 gigs of ram, and a Quad core processor, plus a 1080p monitor. I was wanting to buy one of the games in the STALKER series. I was wondering which game I should buy first, and if the game in question would run on my PC (not nessicarily on the highest setting). Thanks in advance!

I would recommend Shadow of Chernobyl; I love the STALKER series and i can easily tell you that it has more unanswered questions than lost. Clear Sky is said to be a prologue but really takes place at the same time as shadow of chernobyl but from a different perspective so its better to be able to look back and say "oh, so thats why that happened" and "oh, thats why there are mutants everywhere." If you play CS first then SoC you will be very confused as nearly nothing gets answered till you play the other. Call of Pripyat is the direct sequel to SoC so obviously play it last.

Also, you should be able to run it, they are very easy to run.

Ok so that clears that up. Thanks for the help, but would SoC run on high on my PC? Not that its a necessity but i would just like to know.

Start with Shadow of Chernobyl, then go to Clear Sky, because it's one of those "prequels" that makes no sense unless you play the first game, then play Call of Pripyat, which is a direct sequel.
Oh, when playing STALKER:CoP remember to make mental notes of all the safe areas. It will help you ALOT.

Agreed. I'd play them in the order they were released.

The 9400GT isn't really a gaming card, but a quick look at the specs makes me think you've got a shot. SoC shouldn't run you more than $20, so it's not that much of a gamble.

Yeah. You should play them in the correct order as K9 said. Though I find the game very glitchy and alot of gameplay is lost due to bad game design. Therefore I recommend getting the STALKER Complete mod. It fixes tons of bugs, enhances almost every aspect of the game and makes it run much smoother even though it makes the graphics better than the original.

I never got interested in playing SoC until I installed this mod. So I really recommend installing it. No part of the story is changed, just the other parts of the game. Hope it helps you as it helped me.

Yeah i checked steam and its $20 for SoC. I figure it wont get much better than that. I have about $100 to spare atm so i think ill go buy it now. BTW i run Crysis and Crysis Warhead on my PC on medium so i probably didnt even rly need to ask Also thx for the mod link. Bugs really kill games for me.
