Like I have some artifacts that give +600% health, +400% health, do these stats stack and also is +600% of the regular health even that much more?

Also it seems like random NPCs will turn on me. For instance, Nimble, I was just walking out of the starting town, and he began to shoot at me and then outside the town some random former friendly STALKERs as well... wtf..?

Yes, they do stack.

Also, endurance artifacts. being able to zip all around the zone with a full pack gets handy, especially with some of the better armors out there. But that's just my personal preference.

Enjoy your time in the zone fellow S.T.A.L.K.E.R :p

Yes, they do stack, and as the others said, the endurance ones suck as "Flash" are great when stacked. Infinite sprint is useful in the Zone.
However, I don't think the health artifacts do what you think. They don't seem to increase health, but health regen. At least, they didn't help me to survive more bullets, so that is what I think they do.
Edit: Description on the wiki, probably taken from the game, says "It causes increased cell growth.", so it may be that I am right about it being regen, not health increase.
So you'd have +1000% health regen stacked.

Artifacts do stack.
The hostile stalker issue however, either you picked a side in the Duty/Freedom war or it's just glitching on you. Load a previous save, something you should have plenty of.

Haven't even picked a side, he just turned on me.

It's been a long time, but those two are the only reasons I can come up with that would make random stalker attack you. If they're just randomly turning hostile, it's probably glitching out on you (I might be missing something, though).

Were you walking with your weapon out? People will quite understandably shoot you at times if you wander around with a weapon drawn.
