I know from other games that it can be made into both without either views getting an unfair advantage.
For those who can become more immersed through a first person perspective, it's great. But not everyone can.
I'm not entirely with you on the natural aspect of that, since another view could be explained away through "advanced tactical ship hologram projection/simulation or what have you".
As I've said before, I would love me some Star Citizen. But due to my own feelings of constraint within a cockpit mode, it's sadly not for me.
I wish you lots of fun with it, there do seem plenty to be had. ,)
