Star Craft II- Is there anyone who will not be getting this game?

Wow, I only just noticed the other day that they have a release date. With Blizzard I tend to check in every once and a awhile as they take the time to polish their games.

I am so excited! I intentionally did not try to get into the beta because I have found that they tend to burn me out. So nice to have some big PC releases coming. Star Craft- Wings of Liberty in about a month and just one month later Elemental! I have been waiting for both of these games for some time.

Is there anyone who will not be getting Starcraft?

i have played the old one a few times, it was fun, but just too time consuming for a strategy game, if im gonna pour time into a game its gonna be an rpg for sure.

so no i will not be, plus all the koreans raped on me when i played the few times online and not against my friend

I can believe that. Ever since the Ultima Online beta years (and years) ago (like more then 12 years ago) I have made a policy of not playing in betas but I suspect I made a mistake this time as I will be unprepared for prime time.

Fair enough. I used to like multi-player shooters but I burned out on them in College. To each their own.

I might pull a pass on it just because it's the standard RTS formula, which I'm sort of bored of, having played that formula in dozens of different interpretations since 1992 or earlier.

On the other hand, I might play it anyway if I decide that it does RTS really, really, really well to the point where I can overcome my reservations.

Thus far, I've yet to encounter adequate proof that this is the case. Ridiculous level of attention to bring about three factions that play differently... okay, sure, but it's not like I haven't seen that before.

I'm not planning to get Starcraft II. I have a tendency to not like RTS games, they just remind me too much of Impossible Creatures, and the mods for that game don't work on Vista. Then I just get all depressed.

I probably won't be. As much as I loved the original, I don't think it's worth the money to get it right now so I'm going to wait until it goes down in price, gets some decent mods going, and proves itself to not be a mistake. I've been burned by sequels too often to just rush into them anymore.

Maybe the fact that even if I did buy it my current computer would fry if I tried to play it has something to do with it.

Well for one thing I only have a laptop which would probably have a digital heat attack if I tried to run any PC Game made after 2003 on it, so I guess pretty much all console gamers like me who don't have/can't afford a decent PC.
