Well, I've watched up to the second episode of series 3, and it's still pretty good. Just starting the Xindi arc, so I can't say much about that, but I find it feels much more real. The transporter is a hellishly dangerous thing to use, and there's much less technobabble.

I liked it, the sense of newness, the sense that they looked like they didnt know what was going on half the time, the way some of the episodes tied in with some movies/other series', the fact that humans acted.......human.

Just a shame they rushed the last few episodes like that.

People hated it because Patrick Stewart wasn't in it. I too really enjoyed it, but because it wasn't The Next Generation people were mad.

I just didn't like it. It seemed like it was trying to do too much gritty science fiction, and I didn't feel like it meshed well with the Star Trek vibe.

I liked it. Not really sure why they felt going back to the early founding of the Federation was a good idea, as it sort of took a bit of the mystery away.

I LOVED, however, how they explained why Klingons had flat foreheads in ToS. It didn't need explaining, but it was cool they put that in there.

I hate everything Patrick Stewart isn't in!!!!

...Seriously though, he makes everything awesome >_>

OT: I haven't watched many episodes, but I liked what I saw. I'm more of a Next Generation fan... I'm better off getting an opinion off my boyfriend who is a die hard Star Trek fan.
He said, "I liked it, but it shat all over the continuity" so there's that.

I like Scott Bakula because he voiced Danny in Cats Don't Dance so he always has that little place in my heart. <3

Only good thing about it was Jolene Blalock, also way too much time travel.
Yeah. She was... something else... though I think they played on that a bit too often (particularly the Pilot) I mean 7 of 9 was sexualised, but damn they didn't go overboard.

As for time travel. It was used a little bit too often, but I love how they put a TARDIS in one episode.

Personally, I think it's because the more you looked at Bakula, the more you wished he was doing more Quantum Leap instead!

Then explain the popularity of Voyager and Deep Space Nine.

OT: I just thought it wasn't that great of a series. Not every incarnation of a show can be successful.

I enjoyed it, the problem was it kept getting shifted around in different time slots so it just got confusing working out when it was on, this meant the ratings were skewed so eventually got cancelled in a very disappointing ending.

Though it had some good stories and such, people didn't like it because overall it was inconsistant and badly written, I sort of enjoyed it, but I am a big DS9 fan, and no one can beat The Sisko!

I liked the series overal. I remember that I didn't like the last season as much, though I can't remember why exactly.

I quite liked it, although I haven't seen anything after about 3/4 of the way through the Xindi episodes.

That is a perfectly valid reason, one of the main symptoms of PSDS (Patrick Stewart Deficiency Syndrome) is uncontrollable rage.

I've only recently watched it. I attempted to watch it when it originally aired, but couldn't because it was on UPN and I've never gotten that channel in the area where I live. It just isn't on cable or regular television here...which I understand is strange to most people.

Anyway, what I have seen of the show, I really enjoyed. I think the primary reason that people didn't like it was that the crew didn't feel or act like a normal star trek crew. It's kind of unfortunate that most people weren't able to see that this was the point: they were the FIRST star trek crew, having to deal with space travel itself as an unknown (rather than it just introducing them to unknowns) without rules and guidelines like the prime directive to tell them what to do. It made the show unique, which, while I appreciated, I could see how some people might find it distasteful.
