People criticizing topics they only have third hand knowledge of is part of the human condition. Everybody does it, including yourself.

Oh, well, that certainly makes it less predictable and tiresome to deal with, then, doesn't it?

I will read and judge myself. I have np with any characters sexual preferences or gender. I have a problem with two things: Claims the book its good because it"s diverse cast ignoring bad writing, and tokenism that makes the character significance all about its gender and race, hipster racism is still racism.
