Loved it. Any game that lets you play as Stormtroopers gets my personal thumbs up.
Recently my copy screwed up so I had to go back to the original Star Wars Battlefront and man do I miss the sprint ability and the space battles. The ability to kill Gungans almost makes up for it though ;-)

Hopefully someone will pick up SWBIII like they did Duke Nukem Forever and finish it off for release.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is, I believe, a ridiculously fun game. And awesome.

Now, not having a PSP, I can't get the many exclusives that were apparently released for it... but if a battlefront III comes out for 360, I will get it in an instant. I missed my chance to play Battlefront II online, see...

Got it on both PC and PS2.
It rocks.

I remember on the campaign I'd sunk so many resoources on this 'Suicide' mission.
It was me left (1 reinforcment, that being me. So no AI lost me this match) and about 30 odd enemies.
I still won, and got so many badges for it :3

It's best on the PC as the graphics are better and it adds a mode with twice as many people on the map. Awesome.

I loved that game, but it did have some issues. It was an improvement on SWBF 1 as the Jedi were absolute hax and couldn't be stopped in the first one. Plus the levels where you could pilot space ships meant that if you had a ship you were unstoppable since they were so strong and fast. I did miss some of the cool levels from SWBF 1 such as the Kashyyyk docks and Cloud city.

I also thing the Destroyer Droid was too overpowered. Ok it couldn't ride in ships or order troops or jump, but it was fast as hell, insanely powerful, and tough as old boots.
Yeah, but it was always fun. I really hated Bothan Spies though.

Well I remember that was the first online game I played. I can't remember when I got it either, but it was for the PC. It was the first time I ever had a clan, used teamspeak/ventrillo, etc. I also learned that you could download the Battlefront 1 maps onto Battlefront 2. I used to play on those servers a lot. There were even custom hero vs hero maps. They had Kotor heroes to fight against one another. There was so much potential for this game on the PC. The only reason I stopped playing it is because slowly, the community died down. I got it on steam when it was released, but still not many people playing.

If Battlefront 3 ever comes out, forget these new games coming out this winter, (except for Dead Rising 2, but that's just me), I'll trade 'em in just to get it.

Man, I STILL play this game with friends. We have one friend we never let use Jedi Heroes, because she's trigger happy with Force Push AND has bad aim.

In fact, her stunts actually cost us a battle on Mustafar once.

Well given Lucas Arts announcing that there won't be any more third party SW games beyond TOR, I'm guessing they'll take bf3 and finish it themselves.

At least I hope they do, I want this game badly :(

LucasArts has their heads up their asses with that project. I remember Game Informer published an article that said they started on it in 2006. WHERE IS MY GAME DAMMIT!?! In summation...I really hope they decide to continue the franchise whether it be continuing an existing game, or finally starting one. None of that PSP stuff with auto aim. Not good enough.

My worst gripe was with Managuards. The sockets are instakill, and they have 25 of them... Then again the AI was stupid enough to make up for it. Also about destroyers, you can actually kill them by circling behind them and shooting them whilst they tried to turn around.

Absolutely. Its one of thier best selling games. and you could include alot of non canon fights, as well as an addition RTS kinda thing. Kinda like an expansion of the galaxy conquest. Only you do alot more in depth. Like gather supplies, get resources, all that. And if the planet was a heavy support of your enemey before you took it, then you have to put down insurrections unless you completely destroyed your opponent.

It always bothered me that I could have an army of 150 left and my enemy could have 30, and just cuase i took their Bases, they lost. Thats thirty men that could kill mine. Especially when its something close, like if its on Endor's moon and i have 32 men to the enemy's 25. Tehy could easily over take my men with a good sneak attack. I dont know, just a thought.

But yeah, I think you should. and maybe add an RPG element. Where in the main story (where in BF2 it follows the 501st), you get one character, but you rank up and can choose from different guns, then you can take that character online. So you could rank from average clone trooper, to clone commander and carry a turret gun and a blaster rifle. or osmething like that. Just a thought.

The pistol is, as a weapon, about as effective as flicking pebbles at an elephant and expecting it to die. As for grenades, well...I'm not even going to start. Suffice to say that in Battlefront, a grenade is only useful if a whole group of your opponents have fallen down a well and can't escape
I dunno if I can agree on that. I always liked using the regular pistol. The reward pistol was an utter beast, so I won't go there, and the commando pistol was just kind of an extended clip pistol (with more shots before overheat). But the regular pistol... its limited shot count before overheat and general shittiness was part of the fun. It meant actually killing a guy and landing headshots was so much more satisfying, especially when that guy was a trooper... or engineer... or demolitionist... or god forbid, a wookie. Besides, pistols are stylish and require finesse :p

As for grenades, I've always been of the opinion that the battlefront series does them right. They're suitably devastating when used correctly, but not IMBA (in my opinion). Mainly as bunker busters, or throwing them into a room or at the floor of a corner which is providing cover for enemies. But also fun in confined spaces, like the prison sector corridors of the Death Star, Tantive IV, and on the platforms and walkways on Kamino. But watch out for friendlies >:)
They were just the jack of a trade, and that trade was "killin' motherfuckers like it aint no thang" :p
Hehe, absolutely. The reward rifle was just so rediculously versatile and excelled at killin' motherfuckers at close, medium, and long range.

It's sad that there wasn't really a choice between classes if you wanted to do well at the game. If you want to win, play a basic trooper. It's a rule that applies over every level, though pilots, heavy troopers etc have situational uses in some matches.
And that was part fo the replay value for me. Going through the campaign, or galactic conquest, or a bigass playlist of instant action and playing the other classes, and making them work in situations they weren't designed for.

I heard the third one got axed. That might be wrong though. There was even a trailer out for it, let me find it...

Here it is:
I'm pretty sure there's no PC logo there at the end. I will murder a box full of kittens if Battlefront 3 is a console exclusive.
Talking about logos at the end of the trailer, there's a Pandemic one, but Pandemic have denied any involvement with the game:

"As of right now I can say Battlefront III is not currently at Pandemic," a company spokesperson confirmed on its web forums. "While I know the title seems to be up in the air from all the buzz around the web... LucasArts will be the only one knowing where the title is at right now," he or she added.

I did a bit of research and it seems that the original developers didn't get on with LucasArts, so LucasArts shut off their funding and went elsewhere. Who knows if this game will ever get finished, there was even some gameplay footage of it somewhere.

Here it is. It's terrible quality, but it's footage nonetheless:

To be honest, i'm kinda glad it isn't/wasn't with Pandemic. I'd hate to see what happened with LOTR:C to happen to Battlefront.

In other news, was just playing Battlefront 2 10 minutes ago ^^

That's a good point, LOTR:C was a pretty average game. But didn't Pandemic make the first two Battlefronts? They made a decent job of those.

Yeah, they did make the first two. Then something happened, and, well, they made Conquest. I suppose you could say I didn't want a third Battlefront, the one which would carry into our current gen, to be the shame of the series.

If theres one game in the universe i'll go fanboi over, its Battlefront, hehehe.

Pandemic closed last year, also, pandemic made the 1st 2 games, so there is no reason to think it would have been terrible.

Starwars battlefront 2 was way better than 1 but both of them were awesome.

Admittaly I haven't read through the entire thread, so I don't know if this got pointed out already, but that's a trailer for a combined Flight/Infantry game, where both the space and the ground battles would be happening at the same time. It was a handheld, and many mistake it for Battlefront 3.
