I look forwards to seeing diehard Star Wars fans desperately trying to argue that the ep7 did not utterly suck.
I don't know about that, man. Starwars seems to share fanbases with Bioware, full of guys that hate everything that gets made by the respective company/franchise. I bet you two million dollars all the fans will hate Episode 7, but everyone else will think its "okay but nothing special". Just like the prequels. And to be that guy, just like the original movies. Not that the fans hated those, but you can't get it right all the time.

I honestly don't even give a shit anymore.

When I first saw this on my facebook, I raised an eyebrow in mild suprise and kept scrolling.

Star Wars will only ever be the original trilogy to me.

I'm just saddened by the fact that the new movies are definedly going to fuck up the already established Expanded Universe canon... Most of the books "post-episode-6" were fine, some even great...

So... does it mean if a Kingdom Hearts III does come to happen, will it mean Sora will carry a lightsaber keyblade?

Sounds kickass to me.
Actually yeah, I'm suddenly fine with Disney taking over LucasArts if only for this.

All I can do is laugh maniacally and await the oncoming "tides of hate" that are sure to flow.

And 75-90% of the fans will feel butt-hurt about the film. But most of them will go anyways and toss their money at it like good sheep.
Just like video games.

Isn't the unbreakable loop of hurling fanatry fun?!

Share fanbases? Really? Oh yea.. must have something to do with KoToR, KoToR II, and SWToR. Haha Yea there you go.

Will many fans who overlap with Star Wars/Bioware hate these? Sure. But what I don't understand is why people can't understand WHY they hate them. In their eyes, the first batch of Star Wars Movies were great...(original trilogy) and the first batch of Bioware games were great (baldur's gate, KoToR, DA:O, ME, etc) but then everything after that started to suck...again...in their eyes..

If this happened to something you liked I'm sure you'd get upset too.

As for the new Star Wars. Can it really get any worse? The animated series on Cartoon Network pretty much hit rock bottom for me. I just wonder what they'll do next or where they'll go. There is so much stuff that happened after Return of the Jedi, will they continue that or go in a new direction? Will they listen to what fans want? HAAA...doubt it..

But still, at the very least I'll be interested.

I honestly hope that #7 is an animated family comedy with Jar Jar Binks and his six adorable children, just because I know that the internet rage over a bad movie would be far more entertaining than a well-done seventh entry ever could be.

Disney plans release a new Star Wars movie every 2-3 years

I hope these movies are good. After all Disney has done rather well with Marvel.

And hey maybe we will get a Boxset of the original 3 movies without all of Lucas's tampering.
If they make that their first order of business they can make another trilogy and I won't complain.

I read that Lucas wants to set it decades after Return of the Jedi to distance himself from the original trilogy and create a practically completely new saga.
I think that's a better idea, there will be a lot less bitching from angry fans.
I wish the dude well.
As long as he doesn't direct or write the screenplay. He's a great producer though. He can keep that seat.

News Flash: The next Marvel film featuring The Hulk will be an adaptation of the "Planet Hulk" storyline adjusted to as to send Hulk to Tatooine where Jabba makes him fight the Rancor.

I saw the headline and just went "Oh fuck off!".
I believe yahtzee said it best, people need to slap George away from the editing desk and give him a colouring books so he doesn't determinedly destroy his own franchise so much
They did.

Generally, it's a good idea to read MORE than the headline.

OT: Really, what's the worst that could happen?

Don't really see how they could make it worse than it already is. Maybe they can actually higher a decent actor for the main character this time. Also, they probably can't make the dialogue much worse than it was in Episode 3.

I like episodes 1, 2, 4 and 5. 3 and 6 had problems but mathmatically I should like this 1, NUMBERS!!!
