It's alright, I guess. My main gripe is that it has a tendency to introduce darker elements into the story, but often then not letting those go anywhere like Clone Wars would've.

Wish they did more with Thrawn. So far he hasn't really done all that much, but it's possible they're making him play the long game to catch bigger fish than the Ghost and its crew. And Agent Kallus' arc could get more attention. The whole 'inside man' in the Empire is an angle we haven't seen much outside of the EU.

I do like what they've done with Maul though. He's still very much a self-serving evil bastard, but for all his manipulation, he seems to actually sort of like Ezra, but maybe that is just appearances to get himself an apprentice and replace/avenge Savage Opress.

Didn't Thrawn say exactly that, that he was waiting for the rest of the Rebellion to show itself? Maybe that was Vader.

And I agree with Kallus, I want to see more Empire-centric episodes.

It is decent. Definitely a lot better than the movies in parts because, unlike the movies, doesn't have the constraints of shrinking every important event in the galaxy-spamming war to the Skywalker family and friends.

The problem it had is that it seems a lot less focused than the movies (and Clone Wars), because most episodes are centered around "choose a random single character in the crew... have them have some personal growth or reveal... stop exploring it". It feels like they keep opening thread after thread, but resolving them superficially. So far, there has been a couple episodes centered around Kanan and his injury, Ezra dripping his toe in the dark side, Hera and her family, Zeb dealing with command, Chopper being Chopper, Sabine and her heritage, even Rex has episodes revolting around him... while revealing a lot of new villains and secondary characters. Any of them could make for some interesting motivations throughout the season, none of them lasts more than a couple episodes and the resolution always feels rushed.
