Not a big shock, really. Sad, lonely nerds with no social lives who spend all day surfing the net will jump all over an opportunity like this faster than you can say "cupcake".
Guilty!

...Hell, I'd be bringing shame onto my name if I didn't at least apply for the beta.

I wonder if people camped out in front of their computer for those codes...
I'm sure I'm not the only one hammering "Refresh" in Chrome waiting for the site to come back to life.

Well here's hoping I get in. I've beta test quite a few MMO's in the past so hopefully they'll take that into account, that and I'll offer them my liver.
Ha! Ill be offering both of mine

Yo people - the site is back online. Also- After signing up I read that this isn't a solid beta. There will be many test groups running for different amounts of time. So if you don't get into the first one, then there are many other opportunities. Good luck guys!

Don't get why people want to play the Beta so much. Betas don't tend to be very fun, sicne they are full of glitches and balancing issues.

Being able to test the game before everyone else, even in a beta state is cool.

Also, know that your bug reports are helping to contribute to a better final retail product, I guess.

That, and satisfying their massive hard ons for all things Star Wars.

Well that was a ridiculously quick response.

Anyways i understand all the initial appeal, but when you actually think about it beta testing doesn't sound like that much fun (after all you're not playing the game to have fun. You're playing it to make sure everyone else has fun).

It's something new and unknown. The exploration of the beta is itself fun. Finding the exploits which can super boost your character for kicks and giggles=fun.

Yeah, from a pure gamers perspective it's probably not as fun, but if you're Beta testing a product you're probably going to be buying the final product so it's in your best interest to beta test properly so that you're giving not only everyone else a better retail product but also yourself.
