After the recent release of The Force Unleashed, and being slightly disappointed by the length of it, I had to ask myself: which Star Wars game is the most successful one available to the market?

And I came to the conclusion that, of all the games, I find Star Wars Battlefront to be the most entertaining and the most playable. Yeah, it's difficult if you don't know what you're doing, and it can be hard to talk to some people on there (be it either down to not speaking another language, or just plain ignorance), but no game has ever got me to keep going back to it for just one more shot at a Jawa.

The game came out in 2001. We are now in 2008. I, like many other fans, still find myself drawn to it daily to blast the bejeezus out of some unsuspecting rebels. If a game can remain this popular after such a timespan, then that, to me at least, is a successful game.

Just look at Tetris.

(P.S. if anyone here is still playing it, and you fancy a game one day, just grab my Xfire user name from my profile and add me. I'm more than happy to play it with others :D)

Knights of the Old Republic 2 is my favorite. However the Star Wars series is being a little bit over produced. Even the movies.

This has been done before I believe, with a pool.

It's a toss up between KOTOR/2 and JKII Outcast/JK: Jedi Academy.

I'd say pick up one of the KOTORs for the single player if you like RPGs, Jedi Academy if you like Online.

Sorry to revive old threads, then :D Had this account for about 20 minutes.

flare, I couldn't agree more. LucasArts are doing the Nintendo thing and not leaving their best franchise alone for long enough. I wish they'd revisit Monkey Island for a bit....

KOTOR 1 was the best IMHO. It had a great story, great(though sometime annoying, I SO wanted to kill Carth!!!) characters, and great gameplay. That and the ending kicked ass for both good and evil characters. KOTOR 2 was a mess. The end was not and ending, it was a drop off. Battle Front 2 was my next favorite game. But I am really looking forward to the Bioware made KOTOR MMO. I have very high expectations for that project.

I think we ALL have high expectations for KOTOR 3. I just didn't like BF2 because of the Hero Units. At least in the first BF, the Heroes made you flee in terror because they were nigh-impossible to kill.

Yeaah....goodluck with that...That ship sailed long ago... The days of "Lucasarts - Patrons of all things original and innovative" died instantly the day George Lucas realized the money cow Star Wars was and ever since dedicated every waking minute to milking it till it's nothing but a burnt out piece of unappreciated coal. Coincidentally, that was probably around the time Lucas decided to make the "first" (prequel) trilogy.

Knights of the Old Republic 2, hands down. The original comes in as a close second, but was too generic (or was 2 just incredibly amazing?). Let's just call the KoTOR series a safe bet in general. Shame Obsidian isn't making the third, though.

I ditto those sentiments.

I even actually started to play a full campaign of Empire at War: Corruption this last weekend. Oh, I forgot how fun it was playing the Empire and defending my space station (lvl 1) with a mere Star Destroyer and a Tartan cruiser against 9 Rebellion Frigates and a few squadrons of X/A/Y-wings. I was sweating a few times.

Back in my old 486 days...I loved Tie Fighter, and X-Wing and was jazzed to get the B-wing expansion on like 5 3.25" floppies.

Xbox- KOTOR 1 & 2

The most successful Star Wars game was Star Wars: Battlefront, as it sold the most units as far as I know. BF2 may have sold more, but I really don't know.

A pool?

(and on topic, KOTOR or Tie-Fighter)
Poll. Then again, maybe it did have a pool. It was THAT classy.
