I know this may be a rehash but honestly, dividing one game into three parts and selling each part for full price? Blizzard you greedy bastards. The next step is releasing Diablo in four parts because you have to buy each class. (I hope Blizzard isn't reading this and going "hey, great idea!"). Am i buying Starcraft 2? Yes. When they release all three campaigns in one box and it's under 60 dollars. Until then, plenty of good games out there.

You do realize that each section is just as long as the original games right? So yeah I will gladly be paying each time for all three sections because I love that damn game.

Wings of Liberty is Starcraft 2. The other 2 are expansions. You will be able to play all 3 races for multiplayer and computer battles. They are just beefing up the other campaigns and making it as epic as possible. Would you rather have a half-assed version with a flimsy story? I don't see the problem unless they release all of them for 60$ each. Which they won't, I'm pretty they stated that.

It looks like SC2 will be 3 times as long as Starcraft, I heard something about 30+ missions per side. So yes I am happy to pay full price for a third of that + what is probably the best multiplayer RTS since the first one.

I'm actually not convinced... I need to go play Starcraft 1 and try and get into it because i played the beta a bit but I was left confused and a little disappointed.

Of course, there's far more to Starcraft than single player, I spent a few days on WC3 single player, and about 3 years playing it online.

All depends on how long the campaign is compared to other games and the quality. We'll know soon enough.

Multiplayer is complete anyway.

It's not a third of a game, it's one of three games.

Some people just don't seem to get it.

Meh. We'll talk again when people start comparing the length of the campaign in Wings of Liberty with the length of the vanilla StarCraft campaign once the former is released.

So we're saying $180 dollars for one stupid game just to get a different point of view from three characters?

nerds have tons of money from their geek squad jobs so i would count on them buying all 94 60$ games for each unit they will make forever, how bout you just pick a new hobby like being handsome or funny so girls will be attracted to you?
Wow, you really contributed to this conversation. Your insight is great.

OT: It may be one third of what they're going to do, but it's not one third of a game. Each race's campaign is supposed to have as many missions as there were total in the original.

No, I'm paying full price for a full game that happens to be the first third of a story. You know, like Mass Effect, only with awesome multiplayer that will give you probably hundreds of hours of entertainment beyond the main 20-30 hour campaign for free.

Did you yell at Peter Jackson for making you pay full price for 1/3 of a movie? What's that? You didn't?

for the 1/3 of a movie no, but I did want to yell at him for using 1/4 of the book and making up the other 3/4 of the movie and on top of that doing a horrid job at it
Oh, you nonconformist, you. Which parts did he make up?

I already paid extra just so I could get the limited edition. btw, this is the first limited edition game I buy.
besides, each game is as long as the original so I'm paying for 1/3 of a game three times bigger than a normal game.

R: "... but Roger, it goes on forever."
E: "Ok, Well I'm gonna say-"
R: "and then - and I understand that movies - y'klnow, Harry potter is part of a series but it ends on a satisfactory note."
E: "Ok,"
R: "But this thing, it's like after three hours and they kinda look at each other and they almost look at the viewers and go, "See ya next Christmas for another big commercial movie!"
E: "Ok, well of course, because it's a trilogy. It is a trilogy. So it doesn't end after the first book. That's what a trilogy does."
R: "Yeah, well it's a $27 dollar trilogy for some people. I think that for $9 you should get some kind of closure."

/facepalm

Wings of Liberty... yes, I will indeed be paying full price for it. The campaign may only focus on a single race, but it's going to be as long as the first game. Initially I was disappointed to hear they're splitting it up but after playing the demo, I don't care. The multiplayer is super fun. And there's a level editor. Best. RTS. Ever.
