I'm not a big fan of RTS' purely because I don't have the talent for them, but also RTS's absolutely need a mouse and keyboard, otherwise it feels "dumbed" down.
I must admit I find them fascinating to watch, its all that detail in mini form that astounds me, RTS games look like exquisite chocolate.

I remember playing Red Alert and my friends screaming at me to spawn Tesla Coils for defence as opposed to dogs, I was hoping to win the hearts of my two adversaries with cute doggies, a strategy that backfired since my opponents were cold hearted meanies, I managed to spawn a sub in a puddle which was awesome.
I do the exact same thing. My feelings about things like base defence and unit placement are that aesthetics is more important than functinality. If it looks good, it's working. In the next StarCraft I hope for all our sake that we can spawn "white picket fencing", it'd really make our bases stand out, and hopefully with a dead bolt on the front gate our adversaries would find it difficult to enter, after all, it'd be locked from the inside.Rusty Bucket said:I do the exact same thing.
