Quite Possibly the best series on Earth? Do you think so? Probably, because you wouldn't read this if you didn't. There isn't a realease date (as of now) and I'm anxiously on my toes everyday, keeping my eyes and ears open. I'm afraid that I'll scream like a little girl, no matter where I am, if I find out the release date. All I know, is that Starcraft was the best idea on EARTH, and Starcraft II will be like it's baby, exept better. Keep your fingers crossed. Scratch that, cross everything you possibly can!!!1!111!11oneone!1!!!

I have never played a Starcraft game, nor intend to, so no, for me it is not the best series ever - that title belongs to the Final Fantasy series in my opinion. Thats as far as I can go in addressing the OP.

I wouldn't go as far as saying it's the greatest series on earth. Actually, I wouldn't call it a series at all, it's one game+expansion. But yeah, go StarCraft II, it's gonna be a nostalgia trip deluxe since StarCraft was the first real game I played. And surely, since they plan on splitting the campaign in three it's gonna be better than sex... right?

Eh, it was an OK game I guess, but best series ever? I wouldn't push it. From what I have seen of SC2, I'm not overly impressed, it looks good grant it, but as far as I am concerned it doesn't look like that big of an improvement to me. I'm not a big RTS fan though but it just looks rather inferior to other RTS's that are out.

Starcraft never needed improving. It's perfect in every way already. Best RTS game ever by a long way in IMO, the multiplayer is still as fun as it always has been. But it'll have to be portal perfect to be any sort of sequel, so Blizzard can take as long as they want with it and even then they'll patch it for ten years like they did for the original.

I'm really looking forward to the game, but DUDE. You're way to excited. Don't overhype it for yourself like that. All that'll do is set your standards way to fucking high.

It will be awesome. But it won't be the God of all Games.

I really think that people have such high individual expectations for this game that they will only be disappointed when its finally released.

Its like Blizzard are making Perfect Woman 2.0 except everyone has a different vision of what a perfect woman should be.

But saying that I'm not a massive Starcraft fan so I'll probably enjoy it for what it will be, a good game and not the second coming.

Best series on Earth? Nope. That's still Peter Jackson's LotR trilogy.
Of video games? Nope. Half-Life.
Of RTS? Has chances, but still falls short.

That said, I hope this game (sorry, these games) is more than the videos show: the original SC with shiny graphics. And that took them seven years?

This game better blow the old one away in all respects as far as I'm concerned. So far I have no reason to be excited, it just looks like ZERG RUSH IN HIGH RES KEKEKEKEKEKEKKEKEKEKE.

Fun game? Sure. Worth $180.00 retail? Probably not (Assuming Blizzard releases all three "Episodes" at a standard $60).

Your definitely new to the escapist. Starcraft is a great game, possibly the best RTS but the 2nd one is still in the alpha stage so can't really call it a series till it comes out. Also don't get to stuck up in the hype because you could get disappointed when it's released.

Besides, the best series easily goes to Mario.
