So, any of us who had just gotten back from watching the last episode of Atlantis no doubt noticed the teaser for Stargate: Universe after the credits. What do you think the up and coming series will cover? Will there be new enemies, a new team? Will it be better or worse than either of the previous series? And what about the accompanying text: "The longest journey is the journey home"?

I would put my own input, but I'm honestly unsure of where they're going with this.

Having read the cast I think it will be worst...in the words of the show's creators, "They are far removed from the expert character types" paraphrasing of course i would rather they renewed Atlantis, SG-1 or both would be even better

Is that the MMO?

I heard they were trying to make one but I don't know how that's going to work...
No, I think the MMO's called Worlds or Planets, or something like that.

EDIT: Aye, the MMO's Worlds. WoW replacement, here I come.

No, its the new series that is apparently in production at this time. Never really managed to keep up after Oniel left the team, but I may have a look in on this. Just hope it isn't too tied up in history.

No, it seems from the Wikipedia page that it's a completely separate entity, as opposed to Atlantis's spinoff.

They did, remember? They just blew up their planet in the recap of episode 200.
no i mean the actual ones, the ones in ep 200 were a joke, although some of the tech did show up in the show, they never have

I know they were a joke. My bringing them up was also a joke.

I missed the teaser after the episode, so I did a quick internet search. I don't know what you guys are talking about when you say it's gonna suck, this shit looks sweet [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQDrODViG_I]!

Yes, I know there's no way that's the real trailer. a link to it would be nice if it's on the intertubes yet.

O'Neill. 2 L's.
I stand corrected and will edit accordingly. Shows how long out I've been that I can't spell his name anymore. Next I'll be forgetting how many times Daniel died and was resurrected up to series 10. Whats the count now?

IMDB isn't very helpful at this point.

IMDB said:
The Previously unknown purpose of the "Ninth Cheveron" is revealed, and ends up taking a team to an Ancient ship "Destiny", a ship built millions of years ago by the Ancients, used to seed Distant galaxies with Stargates. This team, led by Dr. David Rush and Colonel Everet Young, are trapped on the ship, unable to change its programmed mission, and encounter new races, new technology and new enemies, as the runaway ship takes them to the far ends of the Universe.

Just watched one of the latest trailers for SG:U gotta say not liking the look of the new shows. Firstly it seems to be doing away with a lot of the established look and feel of the previous SG TV series. The ship they end up landing on is meant to be an ancient Stargate deploying vessel... so why does the ship design look nothing like the puddle jumpers, the Aura class or any of the tech seen on Atlantis, in fact if I was to compare the vessels look to anything it looks more like a rather much larger Wraith hive ship??

The feel that also seems to be coming from the trailers is a show that is going to be much darker and seems to be devoid of the humour or sense of fun that was often seen in SG:1 and SG:A

I dunno I've been reading a bit about how they are wanting to take SG:U in a new direction to the old Stargate stuff. That it is going to try to appeal to those that may not have seen the previous SG series or did but didn't continue to watch them.

I'll wait and see what the first episode is like before I reach a final conclusion but the signs are look worrying.

I'm excited. I don't think it will be as good as either of the other two, at least not for the first season--but there's always room to improve, a trend made solid by both shows.

Personally, I just wanna find out what the hell the 9th chevron is for. I've postulated on that since O'neill first went to Ida to get the Ancient Knowledge out of his noggin.

And I'm not surprised that it's again about the ancients. Anyone else see an ascension subplot in a future filler episode?
