Hi,

Iv decided to start filming and editing clips, its something i've been interested in for a while but never really made me move into doing it. Im in my last year of 6th form at school and have just finished my coursework for this year, which was a music video (il link at the bottom if anyone wants to look.) The school had Adobe Premier Elemnts 4, which is an old version (i think) of the software.

I was just wondering are there better programmes out there for PC, or programmes i should get along with this? ]

Im not sure if it was just me being inexperianced with the software, but it didnt seem like there were many great effects or transitions etc so i found ymself trying to create things more with the camera itself and playing with lighting rather than effects on the software, not that i really had a lot of hands on time to play and get used to it properly due to the time i had in school to do it, was just to edit our video.

Any help would be appreciated :) and as promised here is the video i edited, the music might not be to everyones taste, but thats not really the main point of this :p

The main critisim of this video from me and what people have shown have said, is that the narrative doesnt always fit the video, we know this and tried to correct it in places, but we never got it perfect, in hindsight, a different song would probably of been better. But yeah, main focus of this is the Editing software thing :)

Thanks for your time :D

TL:DR - Good editing software for a PC, used Adobe elements a little bit for school project (link above)

Premiere Pro is more than adequate for editing, and AfterEffects for Special effects. (The latter is far more specialized, just so you know)
Don't forget to look up tutorials on editing, as well as formatting for high quality. Formatting for HD on youtube is pretty much adequate.

I can't be of any help I use final cut express on my laptop, and final cut pro at school. I have been meaning to try out after effects for some time however. Does anyone know how this compares to motion(apples special effects)? Also prices. Thanks a bunch
