No, it's a chellenge for myself. You can feel however you want to feel about it. Have you ever challenged yourself to do something different?

Pfft... one week. You'd never know it to look at me, but I lived for 2 months on one bag of potato chips and tap water. (College is fun isn't it?) It sucked horribly. I wouldn't recommend it. No energy, atrophy, clouded vision, delusions, other unpleasant symptoms... not at all fun. Worst of all, it was completely ineffective and probably permanently screwed up my metabolism.

If you insist on doing this, drink lots of water. You can go without food for a relatively long time, but without water you will die after only a few days.

I know this, you can live for up to three weeks on no food but only up to three days with no water.

I've never put myself in serious physical danger for some arbitrary "challenge" that has no benefit.

I'll take that as a no then.

Your instincts tell you to eat food.

Those instincts exist for a reason.

You do know there's no physical benefits in that?

I've had no food for a day on purpose a few times, but I'd never willingly starve myself without a damn good reason. I mean there are people in the world who are one meal away from death at all times and small babies dying from hunger. To purposefully starve yourself for the fun of it just seams wrong.

Even tho its a bad idea, its not even an attempt at starvation.
Protein shakes? Juice? Milk? Any idea how many nutrients yer still getting from those alone?
A true attempt would be drinking water or tea alone.
I'm not trying to force you to do something stupid, nor am I trying to crush your spirit, but in my eyes this is hardly called starvation.

A "challenge" is climbing a mountain or swimming a long distance, things like that. A "challenge" is *not* doing the equivalent of seeing how much glass you can swallow.

I thought that you were doing it for a cause, to show starvation in other parts of the world or something like that. What you're describing is just lunacy.

Maybe I'll develope some empathy for people who are close to death every day, of course living the life that I do I'll never trully understand what it is like. The lives we lead make us selfish and cause us to take for granted how better off we are.

I never meant to make myself sound sadistic for attempting something that some people have to go through naturally. But until I'm put in the same circumstance as people who live in third world countries and poverty, then I can only hope to simulate it.

Maybe doing this will kill me or make me a better person. The only way is to find out.

I'm mainly doing this to test the limits of my body, I like endurance events, long distance running just to see what my body can handle. I'm not trying to lose weight from this as I feel I'm perfectly healthy anyway, I also have stocked up on protein shakes, juices, milk and plenty of water. I also plan on drinking coffee alot, having a minor caffeine addiction anyway I feel this can give my body a little jolt.
If I feel like I can't do this then I will start eating again.
Like I said, I'm doing something just like this this week. For the fun of it really, but it's supposed to be good for you to get toxins out of your system

Good luck with it!
First off I would like to say that the whole notion of Toxins in your system and colon clensing is the biggest pile of fake medicine I've ever seen. As long as you eat correctly and exorcise correctly, your body will take care of itself. If you have toxins in your system, there is something else wrong with you that would need emergency medical attention. Your body already has a method of getting rid of toxins and its called pooping.

Secondly, if you're drinking something that has a lot of nutrients in it(like milk) thats still considered eating. A protein shake is practically the same thing as eating chicken breast minus some ruffage and a few other minerals.

Thirdly, I can understand wanting to test your limits but this is not the way to go about it. You should focus on making your body healthier and getting it in better shape. This is just needlessly destroying it. Just saying you wanna do it to see if you can is not a good enough reason to subject your body to this. I can already tell you that you can because anybody can. You can actually last several weeks with VERY little food as long as you have ample fluids like water.

People can go mad from the hunger.
Also, it is going to be REEEALLY hard to actually pull it off...you have a basic urge to eat when hungry, so everything else then locking you up in a room with nothing but water will probably not work.

And, if you DO keep it up for a prolonged amount of time, I dunno how long, and then scarf your first meal down and eat too much at once, you run a chance of death.
Thousands of people died that way after the concentration camps where liberated...the unknowing soldiers gave them too much food at once, and they died.

So, I remember once reading on a different forum that certain people undertake take a challenge where they refuse to eat food for a week.
Now I've been thinking, how easy or difficult is it to go without food for a week. I mean I've gone without food for one or two days before and I've felt fine.
I'm thinking of trying this challenge and my question is, what will I be subjecting my health to? What am I going to be feeling as my hunger gets worse?
If anyone could list the sort of things my body are going to go through that would be great.

So, until someone talks me out of it then I'm going to start, as of the last time I've eaten (21:30 October 3rd) It's been 16 hours and 50 minutes since then, day one of this challenge. I will update with a new thread every day.
Read Thinner. I'll wait.

Also, or so I heard, if you stop feeling hunger, EAT...
There is a phase where your body gives up and doesn´t give you the hunger impulse anymore. It switches to using your fat as an energy source.
After that, it will digest your organs.
after that, you die.

Drink a shit ton of water to keep your stomach quiet. You can go three weeks without food and survive, so you should be okay for one week. Don't get worried when you feel tired all the time, though. It's kinda natural when you're not eating.

Pretending to use a cause to cover up your ego-trip. Nice.

Have fun watching yourself dissolve. I give you a day.

I did the same thing but with lack of sleep. By hour 62 I had sleep madness, i.e. delusions and hallucinations, I remember yelling something about 'the multiverse trying to get me' and then passing out for eighteen hours.
