So say George Lucas announces a new Starwars movie. And YOU, have 100% full control of the story. What would it be? Would characters from the past return. Would you minimize Lightsaber use? I always thought of a great Jedi forced into exile, only to return at the end of the flick to reveal himself to be Luke Skywalker! Having returned to fight a super clone (whatever that is) Darth Vader. Or maybe a son turned evil.

My cut of Star Wars Episode 7: Return of the Jedi Returns, will be nothing more than George Lucas alone in a room eating chips and counting money.

There will occasionally be shots of him on the phone, talking with producers about CGI and Merchandising. At one time, one of the writers will tell him about a problem he has with a plot point. He will be fired on the spot.

The movie ends with George doing his taxes.

It will be praised as the most honest and heartfelt Star Wars movie since the original trilogy.

Well, we have some expanded universe stuff to work with, but I'm not sure how well it would appeal to the more casual fans [http://www.cracked.com/article/167_5-reasons-star-wars-sequels-would-be-worse-than-prequels/]. New plan: scrap the existing stuff and handpick some fanfiction writers and Star Wars Übernerds to come up with a heartfelt and engaging story. And then once they inevitably devolve into a horrible argument, I'd sack the lot of them and default to Kyle Katarn owning stuff with the might of his beard.

And I'd funnel every last one of Lucas's dollars to Michael [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/StuffBlowingUp] Bay [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXRCf9LbLM0] for directing and producing the movie. Man, this is fun. Box office record books, here I come.

A long, long time ago...in a completely unrelated galaxy than the first one...

[HEADING=1]A NEW PLOT![/HEADING]

[HEADING=3]Far and away from any cosmos known thus far, the planet Erys

has recovered from its years of disaster caused by an errant

war machine and once again the people return to the stars anew.

Meanwhile, explorers from a distant realm encrouch upon Hydran

territory, unaware of the inherant dangers, and a malevolent

overlord watches them all from afar...

I'd hire Timothy Zahn to adapt the Thrawn trilogy for film. The actors are even close enough to the ages their characters were in the book for them to conceivably reprise their old roles; it's certainly a smaller gap than there was between Ewan McGregor's age at the end of Revenge of the Sith and Sir Alec Guiness' age at the beginning of A New Hope. Anyway, those books are the sequels that should have been made, instead of the prequels we got. If you haven't read it and you like Star Wars, read it now. If you have read it, I heartily recommend the annotated edition that came out last year. Zahn actually did the annotations himself, and he reveals a lot of his thought process; it's pretty cool, and it shows that he respects Star Wars more than Lucas ever did.

Well either way anything I do will enrage some fan out there so it's a lose lose situation for me.
I guess it would be a base from the book/ comic like either prepreclude (KOTOR era) or maybe the future post Luke era (I read somewhere that the future Star Wars had a Luke grand, grand etc son who is a bounty hunter who discover he has the force).

Everyone knows, the next film will be Star Wars 10, then 11 and 12, and by the 2040s, we'll finally have Star Wars 7,8,9 and everyone will say they weren't as good as the older one from eariler in the century.

I would actually find some justice in it if Lucas gave it up, and someone who like Star Trek stepped in and ruined Star Wars, just as Star Trek was attempted ruined by J J the dickwad Abrams.

Option 1: The original KOTOR condensed into a movie.

Option 2: Non-stop action. "Hey you lets fight...", "Thems fightin' words".
.
Refrain from quick cuts but show people the action in an easy way to understand. Rinse and Repeat 15 times and call the mess a movie.

Option 3: Stop making the movies. The IP really lends itself best to video games and t.v series.

God, this is why I don't post in star wars topics anymore.

It's either dissing George Lucas, or some pseudp-witty response against the prequels or just about how bad star wars is.

On topic: I always felt that star wars the movies were always about the Skywalker family, and in that aspect the six movies make a nice, satisfying arc, don't feel the need to add more, altough I wouldn't oppose if anything good was made with Luke, his family or anything related to him post-Return of The Jedi.

If it was to be Star Wars 7 I would just take the campaign of the Empire At War's expansion pack and give it a budget for a movie.

Done and Done.

Apologies to all for the necro, but I gotta say it:

That just happened. Episode 7 in 2015.
