State of Decay, is anyone else playing?

I am entirely in love with this game, but it flew right under my radar until I randomly ran into a gameplay video for it a day before release. It is such an intense, horrifying game, and (for a zombie survival game, at least) is fairly polished. At the moment, I'm tentatively calling it my favorite zombie-based game ever.

Permanent character death is made even more awful/amazing by the loving attention they have put into the animations for getting ripped in half by zombies. The first time it happened to one of my main characters I went back and restarted my file. It was just too much to take. I steeled myself a bit better and am watching my ass for my second try. It definitely has that nice Dark Souls-style learning curve to it, and you feel awesome once you figure it out.

I'm hoping it'll end up going viral, since it really deserves attention, but I haven't heard any buzz or seen much in the way of advertisement. Also, it's still XBLA exclusive at the moment, which seems like a huge, stupid mistake on the part of developers.

What about my fellow Escapists, has anyone else checked this out yet?

Played the demo and liked it a lot, will probably pick it up at some point. Just enough humble jankiness to be addicting as hell.

Not to mention I've noticed it's gaining some popularity, so that's rad, being this is a brand new developer.

OT: I am going to play it when it releases here, but for some reason it's released everywhere else except here (And other Countries) ... even though IT IS a downloadable game.
I'll wait for it.

But I can't blame them if they can't get it to every Country at once, so it's no problem, I can wait for a good game.

Oh wow, it's finally out. Was following the development for a bit, then I just let it slip my mind. Hmm. Well, I waited this long, think I'll wait a bit more for a possible PC release.

I've been following development for about a year now, but am waiting for the PC release. Really, really excited. This and Folk Tale (which is in on Steam in it's alpha state, but does cost money.)

I haven't yet decided if when Decay is out on PC if I'll follow the story right away or stick to the sandbox style of play.

Can't wait for the PC release, though. There are so many indie games now that I'm so excited to play.

I picked up the demo & I did enjoy it quite a bit, but I am worried that it might get boring fast. I hope not because it was very fun. When I get some extra cash I think I'll get it anyway.

I have been following this game for a long time. Here are some things I have heard from the developer:

1. They are considering patching in co-op as DLC. I believe they said it depends how well it sells.

2. This game is classified as Class 2. This is their first big zombie project. They are also developing a game classified as Class 3. Class 3 is a MMO zombie survival game.

I bought this game the first day of release and have been loving it. There are some negatives. Graphics are not great. Voice acting is sub-par. There is screen tearing. Zombies clipping through environments.

But overall, it is a great concept. The developers, undead labs, have done a great job and creating a game for zombie survivalists. You have to manage stamina and health of your survivors. You have to scavenge for food, materials, ammo, guns, weapons, etc. You can build and upgrade outposts. You can barricade windows. There is a lot of positives.

I also bought it day one, to support them so maybe they will patch in co-op and also so they have a chance to create their zombie MMO.

Give the demo a try. I hear it lets you play for an hour.
