Statements and topics that get old real fast

This is just example of some starting statements or typical topics that just annoy the hell out of me everytime see them. (Yeah its a rant)

#1) I got a great idea for a game:
OK most likely the idea is plain old terrible or a grossly close knock off copy of something already made or is just a cookie cutter version of everything already on the market.

#2) Asking for game recommendations:
Alright there are PLENTY enough of reviews about games all over the internet. Go on YouTube and check out the gameplay for yourself if you're curious about how it looks or plays. Why in the world do you need approval from 50, 100 or 1000 people to buy a damn game? At best I'll ask my friends about it to see what they think about it.

#3) DMC is going to be terrible!:
Can we please stop beating a dead horse here people? Yes we get it already you don't like the way the new Dante looks...So what! I don't like his new look either myself but I stopped complaining after the second day I heard about it. Some people act like the white hair and red coat made the game good or something. Some people are so caught up in his looks, that they're not even paying attention to the gameplay and story. Scream all you want about it but its not going to prevent the game from being released. Two things are gonna happen either you're going to buy the game when it comes out or you're not...plain and simple.

#4) People who don't like this game are....:
OK people who don't like or hate the same game as you do are just people who don't like the game. Why do we have to sit here treat them like war criminals just someone doesn't like Halo or Zelda?

#5) Anything with the word "Epic" attached to it:
Holy crap. Never has one word been raped and overused so much before like the word epic. People use it to describe the most mundane and boring everyday activities we all do. You'll hear somebody say something stupid like, "That breakfast was epic!" What the hell is so epic about eggs, bacon and pancakes? NOTHING! I DON'T CARE HOW GOOD IT WAS! Unless you did something different with it like eat it off a naked Persian supermodel then there's nothing special about it.

#6) You know who would be awesome to put in a videogame?:
Don't know and don't care. Tell your friends about it not me....

#7) FAIL:
Somebody tries to be funny or clever with those one word answers like "FAIL" or "FIRST!"
Yeah it was funny for like a week before it got old.

#8) Console Wars:
OK there is no better system out there. The reality of the matter is all that there is preference and exclusive game titles....that's it. Me personally I have all three systems and think they're all crappy in their own light (But that's just my opinion so calm down). PS is bunch of arrogant pricks who think people will pay anything for their products without question. 360 got a great game lineup but is by far the most unreliable console in durability which is why they keep coming out with newer models damn near every year. (I mean windows vista is less annoying than the 360 for crying out loud!) And Nintendo is not sure what it wants to be. They stopped listening to their fans long ago. Still putting out replicas of the same product every year. No? Just wait until you get a little older and Mario Party #19 comes out, you'll see what I mean....

(Watch how quickly a fanboy/fanatic come to the rescue of one these companies like they need it or something...)

Sorry I had to add on this last part real fast. Why is there always the misconception because some people create a thread on a topic they immediately assume you're trying to change their opinion of the topic? I was simply stating my opinion about how I feel about those things and nothing more just to clear that up for some people....

"Why do people like this thing that I don't like?"
It's painful to watch the same thread resurface repeatedly, to be met with the same answers every time.

Whilst reading the OP I gave myself a test; how long before someone says something sarcastic regarding the original post that make me laugh.
The first post in. Congratulation Sir or Madam, you have just put the cherry onto of my absolutley sublime evening.

OT: Well done, you have opinions. So does everyone else, I agree with some and not with other. But I don't feel the need to post about it. Got any discussion value to go with your rant?

Reviews on games are no help if you're not sure on what to look for in the first place, hence why people ask for recommendations.

I agree with your other points though.

how about the infamous "I HAVE RELATIONSHIP PROBLEMS, HALP ME PLOX!" threads we seem to of been having lately.

I dont care if your best friends brother got a sex change and now is attracted to your goldfish.

I dont care if you are physically attracted to trees.

I. DONT. CARE.

want some real advice? write in to LoveFAQ, you know, the weekly column that deals with RELATIONSHIP PROBLEMS.
You know, I've noticed this comes round about twice a year. Right after school starts, and right after summer starts.... Give it some time people, your parents didn't fall in love in a day.

Having been a member of the Steam Users' Forums who resided in the Half-Life 2: Episode Two section, pretty much everything there was an old topic or statement that had been picked apart to death many years ago. "Will Adrian Shepard be in Episode Three?", "valve cant count to 3", "Episode Three!", "Gman idea" ... It was all really pathetic. Hell, it still is!

As for here, without a doubt: "You are now the last character you killed", "The last boss you fought is now ..." or any of those threads.

I've been seeing this a lot with Half-Life 2 lately. I think the people who start those threads think they're sort of like hipsters because they don't like what the mainstream likes, so they make those threads to gain validation and notoriety for their "unusual" tastes.

And on topic: Misanthropy. Good Lord, this site is just full of wannabe misanthropes. They seem to think that just because they don't like bad people it means they hate ALL of humanity, and because this is the home of Yahtzee (the man who makes money from his rampant misanthropy) they are heroes for feeling the same way.

How about the old classic " I don't understand X , tell me why you like X to try and change my opinion on the subject.

And all they do the entire thread is refute everyone's reasoning as to why the topic in question is good. A good example: poster "Well I like the game because of the atmosphere and great soundtrack.", OP in response " well I thought the atmosphere wasn't immersive at all and the soundtrack sucked, give me a better reason to change my mind about this game."

They're nothing more than thinly veiled troll topics to farm views and comments from fans who come in to offer their two cents, and I wished they would be locked immmediatly.

Or "Why do people not like this thing I like?"

And any 'the last thing you x' threads.

That was a pretty epic post I think you'd be awesome in a video game and if they don't put you in one soon then thats got to be an epic fail.

Of course the game has to be PC exclusive, consoles just arent good enough to handle that kind of epic.

I've got a great idea for what kind of game it will be but nothing like DMC it looks epically shit without his silver hair and red coat it's doomed to fail.

People who like that kind of game are idiots who fail at life.

Could you recommend me a decent game. I have internet access and hundreds of gaming websites to look at but find it far easier if I do absolutely no research of my own and ask you because you are epic.
..................................

I actually felt brain cells killing themselves as I typed that out, I apologise.

I only have 1 topic that seems to make me cringe when I read it Am I the only one who *insert mundane topic here*.

Yes, yes you are my special little snowflake. You are the only one out of close to 7 billion people that likes that food/game/film/song/sexual position/colour of lightbulb.

And yes, yes indeed I am being sarcastic because out of close to 7 billion people you are never ... EVER ... the only one.

Disclaimer - When I type you I do not mean "YOU" personally dear reader, it is just an example text and should not be taken to heart. Unless of course you have ever done a topic asking if you are the only one in which case it is aimed at you.

Anything related to MLP. You like it, you hate it, you don't get the popularity, whatever. Just shut up about it.

The "the last thing you X is Y" or "your avatar is Y" or anything like that. You know the ones, "your avatar came to life and wants to have sex with you", "the last thing you killed in a game now has an army of itself ready to attack you", and stuff like that.

People who see an opinion they disagree with and rather than actually having a debate with the person, they just say "STATE UR OPINION LIEK AN OPINION NOT A FACT LOLOLOLOL" while drooling all over themselves. Unless someone says in their post that you're wrong if you disagree or that it is fact or something like that, it's already stated as an opinion because we all know it's an opinion based statement and something that can't be proven or disproven. So stop getting your panties in a bunch because some people don't bother redundantly posting "IMO" all over the place, and either post a real rebuttal or don't post anything.

All three of those things are invited to go die in the nearest fire so I never have to see them again.

If I can build on this, I really hate it when they ask for recommendations for just a genre (example, "I like JRPGs please recommend some good games."), but don't post what games they already own and/or already played. So then nearly the entire thread is people recommending the same games with the TC constantly saying "I already played that" in response to everyone. Why don't you try telling us what games you already played in the OP when you make the thread?! It will stop you from getting recommendations for things you already played, and it will help people give you better recommendations if they can see what you played and liked.

A well written recommendation thread can still be annoying, but at least tolerable. A poorly written one? They should just be deleted on sight.

In all honesty I've gotten a little tired of the type of threads that end up just being people just listing things. Especially when an OP doesn't even seem to look back at his or her thread after the initial post. It just doesn't feel like a discussion about anything... I mean it could be I get this feeling because I'm sort of really paranoid that no one reads anything anyone posts (with the exception of quotes, and when I see someone has started to argue with someone else).

I quite like this thread. There should be a temporary ban on all titles of threads that resemble the topics mentioned above. Just to force people to actually come up with something interesting/worth talking about. +1 Paragon/Karma/Internets for you good OP and others.

I get so tired of the "this is why religion is stupid" comments and topics. Nothing is more exhausting than atheist chest thumping. By the same token, Bible thumping is equally obnoxious. If we can't not talk about it, why don't we just pretend that the group that you don't associate with doesn't exist?
