You know, as an actual game, this looks awful. But there were moments when I was left wondering just how much stuff they filmed for it.
The backgrounds are awful, but the fighters are clearly filmed. What surprised me there, is that at times it looks like actual full body contact.
(Certain moves look like the film has been sped up, because they move quite fast, but it doesn't seem natural)
But sometimes, when they're hitting eachother, it looks as though they actually filmed it that way.
Combining seperate footage in a believable way is quite a challenge, but meanwhile, filming the combinations foe every possible move between every possible fighter is a logistical nightmare.
I was also impressed that they recorded enough footage to make 3d panning seem viable at times. Though I guess there's no way to tell unless you see the game itself in action.
Those few technical things aside though, this looks incredibly awful.
Not only is it going for the lowest form of sex appeal, with no attempt at anything else, but the fighters are all generic, bland, bikini girls.
What's the point of a fighting game like this if all the characters are practically carbon copies of eachother?
As much as the costumes in a more mainstream title can get to be totally ridiculous (especially on the female characters), at least they lend some sense of variety to things.
Here? We just have a whole bunch of girls all wearing bikinis. And they don't even look interesting physically. They're all similar builds and body-types... No appreciable variation in hairstyles...
Really, the only girl that even stood out from the crowd was the one wearing something reminiscent of Sheeva from Mortal Kombat.
Eh. How boring.
