In all honesty, internet is probably your best option here. Damn hard to fall asleep at the computer.

it may sound gross but try masturbating, it releases several hormones that will make you drowsy... unless your a girl, then your kinda stuck.

edit: Oh wait your married(or your dating), if she is up for it just have sex.
He did say he wanted to stay awake. Your plan may perk him up for a few minutes, but it'll ultimately be short lived and work against him in the long run.
UNLESS! His missus talks to him about her day for the next fifteen hours while padding him on the head everytime he dozes off. It's torture, with love. :)

Why do you want to stay up if you have nothing you are interested in doing? If what you are interested in is making you sleepy, you are fighting a losing battle.

I did give it a warning. I hope that doesn't mean you reported me. Yes I was scared to post this.
Naww, I never report. Besides, it's actually rather... mind-controlling. Interesting uses of the shovel, I must say.

I do nothing out of the ordinary to stay awake. My own will-power is enough for me.

Good Luck!
A cheer for will-power! That's all I need to stay up late when I want to. xD Kind of wish I had weak will-power sometimes though. Lol.

I'm trying to get to sleep, and failing miserably, so I guess I have the opposite problem to everyone else here... (Yay for insomnia!)

As for deliberately staying awake, the only way to manage it is to find anything to occupy your time until you feel you should sleep. Films, TV series (better, as you have to be awake to change things more often), puzzles, games... anything that keeps your mind going for a while. Books are bad though - it's quite easy to fall asleep whilst reading. Caffeine sort of works, but it doesn't make you any less tired, it just keeps you awake - mental stimulation can stop you from feeling tired, at least temporarily.

Why? Strong will-power is a great thing to have.

You will be surprised. It's not all like that and at some points the mushy cuteness will get to you but I loved it and under all of the confusion it brings there is a very good story to it. The sequal is called "Higurashi no naku koro ni kai" which is more about the story for when/if you finish with that. I just watched it myself and it's great in my opinion.

As the title implies, I want to know how u stay awake when ur really tired but cant go to sleep because ur trying to sort out ur sleeping pattern.

I work nights but my sleep pattern is all over the place because ive been off work, and I could do with being up for a good few hours yet.

Coffee isnt a viable answer for me, I drink a fair bit of it, so it doesnt tend to help me stay awake. Alcohol is a no, as I don have any and dont drink much anyway. Narcotics wont help either, because aside from the odd joint, i dont do any, and Im all out of weed anyway.

Ive tried reading, but its tiring my eyes out. Cant do films as Im in the bedroom and the better half is asleep and I really dont want to disturb her.

So... any ideas? I got till wednesday to be going sleep at 6-7am, and it's half past midnight on monday morning.
Get in a car accident, lose your job, have some friends betray and backstab you, get thousands of dollars in debt, and develop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Insomnia is sure to follow.

Or, caffeine.

Not when you have to get up for work at 6 in the morning and work an 8 hour day of strenuous work. 0.0 It tends to wear down your body. xD Especially when you stay up around 2 a.m. :S

I feel that the strong will-power would allow you to get to sleep before 2 in the morning. You would think about it logically, and then you would come to the conclusion that sleep is for the best.

I think I'm starting to mix will-power and something else...

I drink nothing but green tea in terms of non-soda fluids. Due to this, I can often stay awake until it's morning. And then I sleep for 14 hours. Personally, I think it's genetics, as my dad did this when he was busy with work, only he did it every weekday and slept like 20 hours.
