Try the basement of the house, or the lowest point. Since I was a kid, I've always put my computers and consoles in my basement, since the earth cools it down.

Also, you could try passive cooling, which is a cheaper system than AC. It involves sticking some PVC pipe outside of your house, running it 20 feet below the earth, putting small fans inside to direct air flow, then making the other entrance in the floor of your house, giving you cooler air.

I put a set of clothes in the freezer to make them cool.
A cold shower works.
Why not just buy a fan?
Also, naked gaming. Just be sure that no one sees you, unless you want them to.

Edit: Actually, no. I take that back. Don't let anyone see you.
(no offense)

Believe it or not, but here in Edinburgh (that's Scotland, sportsfans) there was a major heatwave last month. Believe me, open a window just a crack and let the breeze flow in nicely. Open a door too. And buy a fan.

Swimming periodically helps cool the body in times of immense heat. If you live near a local swimming pool, I'd give it a try. Even a 30 minute swim can keep you cool for the rest of the day.

My only question is, if it's so hot, how on earth are your consoles holding up? They must be melted globs of plastic by now.

Desktop or laptop?

I overheat with the AC on using my laptop since all the hot air blow right into my crotch when I'm gaming... I've pretty much given up on that situation.

If it's on a desktop then get off your butt and stop being such a putz. I'm sure you can find many a wind moving device at your local Target or town dump.

Two words: naked gaming.

It's the next big thing.
What if someone walks in?
I can think of several wiimote related lines that would no dobut get me banned of the forums, but would go perfect with that situation.

in response to OP's question, Opening a Window is a must and Gel packs used for treating minor burns (the ones that you place in the fridge to cool) are great, place couple around your crotch and say bye bye that annoying sweatiness there!. Note do not leave there for extended periods of time or you could face problems.

Avoid leather upholstry, it is murder on sweaty flesh.

Hope this helps

One of the main heat sources come from your TV, you need to either leave the room or shut the TV off once in a while to keep the room cool.

Take a shower and aim the fan at yourself also does the justice.

Fan. A big one.

Also, preferrebly load up the freezer with ice-cream, ice, cold soda etc.
It might not be a definitive solution to the problem but it does help
