Walking around in a garment like Ezio or Altair does, kinda takes away the whole "I'm a super assassin" mentality for me. They're still awesome games, but when I just killed 5 guys and some other guard runs over while I'm walking away calmly in some ridiculous outfit, they won't even question me? Its kinda silly.
I agree, but not about Altair. Apart for the daggers and the sword, he looked almost exactly like the monks when he'd blend. That's what made it believable, but Ezio just looked gaudy, and I really hated his clothes. Even Altair's armour looked like something that Altair would never be caught dead in.Mr.Pandah said:I wish Assassin's Creed could come through for me on this idea of hiding in plain sight. Yeah I always wondered where 47's amazing ability to blend in anywhere come from... Maybe he's so obscure that he becomes invisible.Khujager said:I played the hell out of most of the Splinter Cell and Hitman franchises. Although it always made me giggle in hitman when you'd be in disguise in a non caucasian level. Seriously how the hell does the 6 ft tall bald guy with a bar code on the back of his head fit in in freaking Malaysia or a drug den run exclusively by black guys?
There is a difference between looking and seeing.Sev said:Stealth is to not be seen. If you're in a disguise, you're still being seen.
Haha that's pure gold, I never actually thought of trying that!Corwynt said:I always like playing as a assassin type character in Oblivion. It's fun using spells that make my enemies fight each other and just watching in the shadows as they beat the living piss out of there once friends. Good times man, good times.
I recently picked this game up and loved every minute of it. Would love for a large, more in-depth game like this.mikecoulter said:Hitman: Blood Money was an excellent game. One of my favourites.
No, no, I understand that. Its just that most of the time, its so blatantly obvious that you just killed someone that it breaks the immersion every once in a while.Giovanto said:They actually will harrass/attack you depending on whether or not your Infamous. If they see you nearby they'll come over and start pushing you around saying how "you were here the whole time" etc. etc. It's easy to get a lost in a crowd, so as long as you quickly make a getaway, they won't notice you. We're talking renaisaince italy, everyone is suppose to look odd.Mr.Pandah said:I wish Assassin's Creed could come through for me on this idea of hiding in plain sight. OT: I really liked Splinter CellA and Assassin's Creed myself. But honestly the best stealth game ever is probably Thief: Deadly Shadows. That was a true honest shadow sneaking game. Thing with MGS is that in lighter difficulty it's easier to plow your way through it, sneaking has no real value. In higher difficulties, it's harder then Hell to hide, so you get the opposite. Only the sneaking is still piss hard. Though they did fix it a bit in MGS4. The system in MGS3 was tedious as Hell.
In my opinion, its the other way around. Altair looked like the fool. Sure, his outfit was more simple than Ezio's, but Altair was also in a far simpler time. Everyone looked like a vagrant and Altair stuck out like a sore thumb, especially in the monks.Daedalus1942 said:I agree, but not about Altair. I didn't say the game had to be realistic in any way. I could be running around in a clown suit for all I cared, but only if I was placed in a circus. I don't understand why they seem to believe that wearing some Assassin garb is going to attract less attention than wearing some simple beggar's clothes?SextusMaximus said:Give them a chance...Mr.Pandah said:I wish Assassin's Creed could come through for me on this idea of hiding in plain sight. I'll repeat this again, games do not have to be realistic in order to be good. So if you think it's silly, that's just the direction they're takingthe game in.
