Nothing.

Almost bought Spec Ops: The Line, but the demo convinced me otherwise.
Considered buying RE6, but knew such a poor game wasn't worth playing through again.
Considered Dragon's Dogma, but I already played it on PlayStation and the dialogue and presentation were cheap and embarrassing.
Considered Rise of the Tomb Raider, but I'm gonna keep waiting for a lower price. The first game was poor and the protagonist unlikable.

I have pretty much every game I want on Steam.
Don't buy Spec Ops for the game play. It's pretty bad. Buy it for the story (I.e. cheap)
I considered that, but if I have to play a mediocre game to experience a good story, I'd rather not play at all and have it be something like The Walking Dead. I have movies for stories and they do stories better than some military shooter.
I'm going to second that you should still give it a shot. It does its story in a way that only games can.

As for my after action report.
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4
Cryptark
Homeworld Deserts of Kharak
Ghost 1.0
and finally
Sakura Dungeon (Which annoyingly has so far been the most gripping one and I've already sunk over 20 hours into it. Its amazing how much nudity can improve a dungeon crawler)

Doom 2: Hell on Earth (it took me about 2 days to figure out how to run Brutal Doom but I got it. I need some new BD-mods now though. Also Master Levels for Doom 2)
You might want to check out Project Brutality. It does a lot of the brutal doom stuff but adds new enemies, enemy behavior and weapons. http://www.moddb.com/mods/brutal-doom/addons/project-brutality

If you get tired of blasting demons and want to deal with them another way >.> Then try looking up hdoom. Don't look it up at work.

Not that I didn't want anything, I was actually really tempted on a few games and saying no to them was quite hard. But I expect to be really busy for the rest of the summer and thought it would be better if I didn't have brand new games waiting for me/tempting me to stay up late. Plus I didn't add anything to my backlog so that's kind of a achievement. Hopefully next big sale I'll have more free time on my hands, and if the prices happen to drop even lower so much the better. :)

Along with the recommendation for Project Brutality, download the Doom metal wad as well (on top of the HD texture pack, and the ultimate Doom visor). If you did, please disregard this post.

Mine was a restrained one this year:

Fable: Anniversary+DLC - $12.12

That was it, I literally saw nothing else I wanted to spend my pennies on in the lower price brackets and nothing I was willing to take a punt on in the higher brackets. That isn't Steam's fault, but five years ago I'd have gone hellbent for leather.

Have you had a chance to try Ghost 1.0? It was on my radar, but I decided against it at the last minute.

Oddly enough it was on my radar too and at the last minute I decided to pick it up. But, I haven't tried it yet, I am currently still working on Naruto and Sakura dungeon.

How does anyone cry in their own language? Do you go, like, "El BOOHOOHOO!" whereas I would go "Le sadness, beuheuheu!" being French Canadian?

And no, this isn't a serious question. ;)

I guess I'm the Filthy Console Outlier, then. I got meself Infamous Second Son, The Talos Principle, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Furi and Borderlands' Handsome Collection.

All of which cost me 50$ CAN. Most publishers on the PSN aren't too stingy when it comes to seasonal sales - and then there's Konami. Konami is, as stated multiple times before by droves of consumers, the worst.

"Oh, wookit you, you poor consumer person! You just upgraded from the PS3 and you'd like to repurchase your favorite Metal Gear in years at a reasonably discounted price? Well, fuck you! Fuck you kindly, here's a breath mint for your trouble! Now kindly fuck off, we've got other sheeple to imperiously lord over!"

Banner Saga ($5)
DOOM ($36)
Endless Legend ($12.50)
Hyper Light Drifter ($12)
Hiragana Battle ($2)
Mafia 2 ($5)
VA-11 Hall-A ($12)

Basically, more than I thought, less than you'd think.

My biggest purchase was Hearts of Iron 4 and that was not even part of the sale. Beyond that I picked up a few small games for about $1-2 each ie stuff I would ignore at $10 but looks cute enough that I threw a few bucks at jsut to see what it played like.

Yeah, I was a cheapskate this year. Kind of hard when you are job hunting to justify spending much of your savings.

Edit: On the other hand, I did buy Doom on my PS4. Yes, I am one of those odd people who plays on the PC and console.

Just one game this time:

Alien: Isolation + all DLC ($15)

I know Doom will drop further, and I almost picked up Half-Life: Source for $2, but then forgot as I wasn't home all weekend.

Shogun 2 Total War 7,50?
South Park: The Stick of Truth 7,50?
Ducktales: 4,61?
Styx Master of Shadows 7,50?

Not that bad actually, though I'm regretting, that I didn't notice Jade Empire being cheap as well.

Also, this was my first Steam Summer Sale.

First Steam sale in memory that I bought absolutely nothing.

Partly due to lack of time for gaming and a huge backlog, but also partly due to quite underwhelming discounts on games I have in my Wishlist. Will wait for the Christmas sales I guess...

bought CivBERT because I totes wanted to hit some MP games with a dude I did a podcast with and I figured I owed him at least that much. Wasn't disappointed though, the game is worth $15 bucks

Torchlight II
DuckTales HD
Strider

I was thinking about getting some other games like The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, but I'm saving up for Civ VI.
