Steam's Holiday Scrooge - Activision

The wonderful world of valve's digital content platform, steam, is having it's annual holiday sale. Spanning over 1,000 video game titles, this sale extends over almost every major publisher and developer of computer games - with the lone exception being Activision and every game they've ever published in ever!

Seriously? wtf Activision? It's reasonable to forgo sales on new products i.e. Black Ops, but where should the "new product/no sale" line be drawn? No one wants to pay 30 USD for a two year old game!

Where's my 75% off of CoD4, ya know? and what about Radical Entertainment's Prototype (published by Activision)? I heard that game was pretty fly - but for 30 USD it can fly away 'cause Bioshock is super fly and it's on sale for 5 USD - SOLD!

I'm not a huge fan of EA but I'd let my pennies drop with them 9 times out of 10 if my only other option was Kotickivision. What about you guys? Where's your dough flying this holiday season? (Change of topic)

EDIT: And now I eat my own words as CoD4 is on sale on steam. 50% off too - Not so bad I suppose...

Activision sucks. Get over it. They hate us, but love our money. EA are actually showing they care, if they are still slightly retarded. Ubisoft are just retarded, throwing out good games but also making ridiculous decisions. Take 2 take forever. Square Enix are actually pretty cool guys, but their PC library is rather bare.

So, my money goes to Cadbury, because I like their chocolate.

I already made my most-wanted game purchase for the holidays...a used copy of X-Wing: Collector's Edition CD-ROM. It's in next-to-pristine shape, and I got it for a steal at eight bucks (plus shipping and handling).

It's no surprise to me that Activision decided to flip the bird at consumers looking for a holiday deal. It's well established that Kotick only cares about squeezing every possible cent out of consumers as humanly possible.

COD 4,5 & 6 are all $100 at most retailers in Australia, I seriously do not know what most of you Americans are complaining about... Activision Games don't go down in price. Everything else gets down to $60-$80 after 2 years, another 8 and we are talking about $20, 20+ and then we reach $10.....

CoD 4 was on sale during the year... Summer, I do believe.

But yeah, no, I don't want Activision stuff. I have the games by them I want on 360; that'll do for me.

I'm considering getting The Polynomial.

Yet, Black Ops is still one of the top selling games. >>
Little tantruming Johnny FPS player doesn't want to wait for sales though.
Yeah true.

It's ridiculous that not even CoD4 is on sale still.

Well infairness to Activision they did do a brilliant sale for CoD in the summer sales. Although they are giving Scrooge a run for his money and you'd have to run pretty damn fast to get his money off him.

Still, id buy cod 4 again if it was on sale (I had it on xbox), activision dont lose money when no ones buying the games anyway. (black ops excluded)

Oh, that's an easy one.

They don't care about CoD4. They want you to buy Black Ops.

Too bad, it's a loss for them. It would have been a great way to upsell some DLC, but nope. I read a statistic a while ago where the higher the discount on Steam, the more exponential the profits increase. A full price game might sell 10 copies while a 50% off game will sell 30 and a 90% off game will sell thousands.

Yup, Activision loves their money so much they can't even look ahead to the next pile of cash.

I agree, I know what I'm buying this Christmas.

OT: Yeah, Activison sucks major cock.
GOD I HATE THEM.
They make really good games. Because they have the money to support them.
But they cost so much. But they're so good. But if I stop paying, there won't be anymore games in series I like. Which I don't want, because I love the games... but I don't want to pay so much!!!!

/FUUUUUU-!! face.

Am I bothered? No. Chocolate still tastes nice. If I want to do something British, I'll have some PG Tips. Everyone loves Monkey and Johnny Vegas.

Calumon: I like the Sausage rolls. :p

Ubisoft got my money right off the bat when they put the ENTIRE PRINCE OF PERSIA COLLECTION on sale. Sure some of them suck, but it was worth it. Oh yeah, and I got Plants vs Zombies, but who didn't?
