I'm mysterious and live a life fraught with excitement and possibly danger. I don't know how people got this impression, but I'd be lying if I said that I didn't like it.

I am 6'6" with a stocky build. Most people assume I am the living embodiment of the heavy from TF2 (doesn't help that I actually look a lot like him right down to the eye color, hair color, hair style) This is okay when I want to be intimidating or end arguments.

Edit: I am in no way slavic. American of Scandinavian decent.

Coming from the north of England (specifically Yorkshire) a lot of people I have lived and worked with that come from the south think I live on a farm, play dominoes, shepherd sheep and own a whippet and a cloth cap. I don't live on a farm, I come from Leeds, so I am a city girl through and through, I hate dominoes, and I don't own either a whippet and a cloth cap. Another one is that everyone from Yorkshire despise people from Lancashire. That would pose a bit of a problem as my mother comes from Lancashire...

Another thing that made me giggle was when I was watching QI and Stephen Fry made some passing comment that Yorkshire people seem obsessed with common sense. I had to chuckle as most of friends from Yorkshire have no common sense. What I like about many of our stereotypes is that we are often portrayed as relatively down to earth. I like that :)

Being British, A cousin of a friend of mine who lives in New York thought that all british people were invited to the royal wedding. At the time I didn't even know that there was a royal wedding. The upside is, a lot of Americans (aside from my friends that live there, as they have grown up with it and long since got used to it..) really dig my accent. That's always a plus :)

That I'm a Muslim Nazi. (Because my dad is from Pakistan, and my mom from Germany) I actually kind of find it amusing.

Also, that I'm a violent youth, who's a bad influence on younger children. (One of my friends moms thought this, because I and said friend were talking about various kinds of murder).
From now on I will call you assef.

You should read The Kite Runner, or watch the movie, because there is a Muslim Nazi in it.
Assef... I like that name. I'm definietly gonna try and rent/buy the movie now.
Little warning, The Nazi Muslim sodomizes a little Hazara boy.
*HUUBLAAAAARG* That sounds... I think I like "Assef" a little less now, if it's the name of Mr. Muslim Nazi...
It is. I guess you could call him the main antagonist in the book.
I see... What exactly is the book about?
Its hard to say without ruining it, it starts out in the pre-russian invasion of afganistan, A kid named Amir has a servant called Hassan, Amir views Hassan as a friend more then a servant, this angers Assef who is the town bully, eventually Assef views Amirs friendship with Hassan as a insult towards there race, because Hazaras are viewed as the lesser race, it gets to a point where Hassan gets sodomized in the defense of Amir. Trying not to spoil anything Amir and his father are forced to leave during the russian evasion and eventually Amir is asked to go back during the time when Al Queda controlled the country.
That sounds interesting... I'm definitely going to Blockbuster soon to get that...

I'll also try to see if my local book store has it, as well.

Well, I'm a New Zealander and the only real stereotype about us is that we fuck sheep. Can't say I'm all that pleased about it, but it is fun in zoology class when we go up to the local farm to learn about sheep I can say "I'm a New Zealander, I already know my way around a sheep." Get's a great response.
The other one I sometimes get is from being half dutch is for being a cheese-loving pot smoker... I guess it could be worse. I do love cheese.

I don't know any Cumbrian (Lake District) stereotypes, and I couldn't find any on google...

i'd be grateful if anyone else knew. I'm guessing it might be something to do with farming, or sailing?

I like the stereotype that I do devil worship and sacrifices because I'm a Goth. And not because it's true. But because it makes some people afraid of me. Sure, others used to pick on me in school, but some genuinely believed I would curse them. It was ridiculous.

And also, it means I get to shock old ladies. They see me coming and they thing I'm a thug, a depressed moron who is going to attempt suicide again later tonight, probably stabbing myself in the eye with the spikes around my neck. Then they drop their purse or something, and I become all nice and smiley, friendly and a lovely person, handing it back to them rather than stealing the money for drugs (which I don't do) and then that old lady walks away with a new insight into goths. The way we dress and the music we listen to does not dictate our personality. Old ladies, and any of you out there who have your own prejudices: Get over yourselves.

People keep thinking I'm especially skilled when it comes to computers, physics, mechanics and maths. Also, I'm considered a kind of CAD guru by some of my friends.

I'm not, and by now, I'm not even OK with it anymore.

My alleged computer skills originate from trying to solve my own problems, snooping around in the system and lucky guessing (basically this [http://xkcd.com/627/]). Because most people who think of me that way have an almost irrational fear of touching anything on their computers that remotely resembles a system option, and I'm not, I appear more skilled. The fear might originate in Win95 times, when it really was dangerous to guess on system settings...

My physics, mechanics and maths skills are basically grounded in my perception of geometry. If I am able to visualize a problem, I can pretty quickly find a proper solution by "experimenting" with that visualisation. So anything that I can imagine, I can solve, even if it requires some abstraction (as long as it stays geometric). If it's just about numbers and formulae, I'm screwed.

The CAD thing has basically the same reason. When I'm doing any construction, I usually see the part I'm building while working on it and just fill in the blanks, so to speak. A bit like the sculptor who said that he just removes anything that doesn't look like what he wants to sculpt. Also, I rely heavily on geometric constraints when building a CAD model, so the results usually fit perfectly together. It's not actually difficult, it's just something I got used to pretty quickly.

I'm from the north east of England. People think that I am an uneducated and poor barbarian.
It doesn't bother me however, as I am at university (which does mean that I am poor, I love being a student). I'll show them...

Do you sound like the black girl from Spice Girls? Pretty sure she has a Leeds accent.

I am in college and I have had Cinnamon Toast Crunch for dinner before, which is pretty awesome.

I don't know as I have never heard her talk, but my mother knows her mother. I don't know why I mentioned that, but I thought I should put it out there :)

Well, as a Christian most people assume I'm some far right Republican, and that I hate the idea of evolution, and am extremely judgmental.

I'm actually in the far left (like, really far left), follow theistic evolution, am somewhat of a science nerd, and actually follow what Jesus said about not putting ourselves above others.

However, no. I really can't stand being stereotyped.
