True: But most of us are.

It's because there was a series of adverts starring Paul Hogan that were shown in America with the line "toss another shrimp on the barbee" apparently they do say shrimp in America. They were then shown in Britain and other places and it stuck.

I think all stereotypes have truth to them - that's why they are stereotypes. The problem is that does not therefore mean that it applies to everyone of that group.

Lets look at English sterio types and how they apply to me specifically.
I am more of the classic English person than the yobbish, football hooligan Brittish person steriotype that seems to the the norm at the moment. I am more of a Stiff upper lip, Tea drinking, smoking jacket wearing eccentric English recluse.

True: I drink alot of tea, preferably Earl Grey.

Oh and also unlike many classic English people I do not like cricket.
