I don't like Apple, and I've never owned or will own an Apple product.

But this guy was vary smart and played a big part in technology today, he'll leave a big gap that will be hard to replace.

what's the deal with the wesbro church? Why are they picketting?
The same reason they always do: Attention. They're like the religious extremist version of a kid pulling on their mother's leg and yelling "mooooommyyyyyy!" Only instead they picket high-profile funerals.

OT: RIP Steve I guess. Don't give half a damn about Apple, but he had a lot of influence beyond that.

RIP Steve Jobs.

UPDATE: To make matters far, far worse. The detested Westboro Baptist Church has announced that they will be Picketting Steve Jobs' Funeral. This crosses a sacred line for me. You never, NEVER, insult or desecrate a man on the same day that he died.

I'm fairly sure those guys have Picketted other funerals and while it may get on everyone's nerves, we can't suppress their right to free speech.

RIP Steve Jobs

Well, it is sad news to hear of a death. Bur, as a person who knew a cancer sufferer, I guess its for the best to be out of the pain zone.

See ya Steve.

Funny how this is the only thread you can get away with posting just: RIP!
I guess forum rules die whenever somebody famous does too.

Well, I never was into Apple, and never owned an iPhone or a Mac or any other stuff created by it, but still, he was able to make one helluva company, and made quite a lot of money.
Rest in Peace, dude.

No wonder he stepped down from being the top dog. Thank you for the music Mr Jobs (and the kick-ass innovation).

Yeah, many other people passed away too. Just because he is famous doesn't mean I should care for him more than anyone else.
Oh look, it's this topic again...
Yes, yes it is.
I suppose you could argue that he should be remembered because of his achievements, as opposed to remembering the talentless hacks that haven't done anything for the world.

RIP Steve, I wasn't an apple fan or a big user of their products, but respect someone who had a technological ambition and accomplished it.

Now we only have to get Bobby and the world will be peaceful and evil will once again be banished to the underworld.

What ever people might think Steve Jobs has changed the world. For better or worse no one can say but technology has taken a giant leap theses past 10 years much thanks to the introduction of iMac, iPod, MacBook and of course the iPhone. And we would not have Pixar either so thank you Steve Jobs.

Great visionary with some faults, witch only means he was human.

Even though he was just a human and thousands upon thousands of people die daily, but Steve Jobs was also a well known public person so from me and many more "iRest In iPeace"

No matter how you feel about apple, the man pioneered the home computer, graphical user interface, and basically monopolized the MP3 Player, Music and Tablet markets. I salute you Mr. Jobs. Rest in Peace.
Wait, so now we give people respect for attempting to circumvent antitrust laws?
When did this happen?
Why was I not informed?

I DEMAND ANSWERS!
Yes.
Last Wednesday.
And we didn't think you'd care so much.
I just meant Apple just dominates the market in those things. It may not be a good thing necessarily, but it's still an impressive feat.

Anyway, RIP and all that stuff
