Yeah, many other people passed away too. Just because he is famous doesn't mean I should care for him more than anyone else.
No one is asking you to, the OP was just providing the information for any one who does care.

Funny I thought he was doing just fine. How sudden. What will become of the company now? Sometimes when the founders of a company dies the whole thing changes. Just look at what cartoon network was before the founders died. Now look at it afterwards. There are some real differences.
He resigned in August. I forget who took over, but I'm sure the company won't do as well as when Jobs was there.

I've never been a fan of Apple or the man himself, but still, dying at 56 to pancreatic cancer is terrible. It makes me think though, no matter how rich and powerful you are, death doesn't play favorites...

That was fast, the post not his death.
Its a sad day for the Tech world even though I never owned a Apple Product.
The only thing good that will come from this are the puns.
I guess an apple a day will not keep the doctor away *ba-dum-tish*

Sad, but I don't know if I'ld put him on par with Thomas Edison like some of the articles are saying.
I might. Despite not having used anything Apple since 4th grade, his company changed the way we look at technology. The iPhone, iPad, and iPod are all the dominant forces in their fields. Everyone who produces technology has been trailing behind Steve's vision. He has truly had an effect on all the world. I honestly believe that a tablet computer or something similar will be as indispensable in the future as the light bulb is today.

Very True

Without Jobs the PC never would have developed the way that it has, PC MAC or other we all owe him a debt of gratitude.

RIP Mr. Jobs

He also helped make MP3 players a household item. Even if I don't like the iPod, it sped the adoption of all MP3 players on the market greatly.

Yeah, that's a BIT far.

Kinda shocked that he's dead. Normally, if someone is so severely ill, the news always leaks out one way or the other. Apple will, literally, now have to contend with the ghost of Steve Jobs.

I don't want to sound disrespectful, but from reading comments and links, I'm guessing this guy was either the founder/CEO or some sort of head project designer for Apple? I don't really pay attention to corporate name trees. Like honestly, all I know is Bill Gates owns Microsoft. (example, not trying to make any comparisons.)

though I'm a PC user and own no Apple products, it still saddens me to hear that he passed away. He had a very important place in the history of technology, and I always held an amount of respect to him for it.
Yeah, I'm the same. While I'm too poor to actually afford any of their products, if it's made by Apple, it's usually a damn good piece of tech. And I think a lot of the ideas behind that tech came directly from Steve Jobs himself.

The world is now a slightly sadder place. Condolences to his family.

Can't you people stay out of these threads?
Please? It's just disrespectful.

Oh. Wonder what will happen to all the yes men jobs surrounded himself with at apple so he could constantly hear how good his ideas were.
Fact.

Have been anti-mac for ages, but it's still kind of sad to see this guy go. I respect him immensely (in a sort of "damn him for doing it first" kind of way) for building the empire he did, even though I didn't like it. I give him all the credit in the world for being innovative and clever enough to take advantage of the market that was available, with technology that he knew said market would embrace. In that regard, he was a brilliant mind.
It's always sad to see a brilliant mind go.
RIP, Steve Jobs. I may not have loved what you stood for, but I can appreciate you for standing for it and being so damn good at it.

Actually it was Steve Wozniak who made the first "home" computer, and he and Job's both created Apple, until Job's royally dicked Wozniak, and I believe if he hadn't Apple would have been even further ahead of it's time.

I must admit, I never liked Steve Jobs just because people assume he was the guy who created the Mac os, when it was Wozniac who was the real brains in the beginning. Things changed and Jobs was a big part of the iPod/phone/pad stuff but he wasn't the big creator the news is currently saying he is.
