NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! What will happen to Pixar!?! Why!?!

I'll miss you. Thanks for all you've done for the industry. We are all in your debt.

Wow, I was expecting this to be either a hypothetical what if thread, or simply the internet making up rumours. I'm speechless.

Hm, that's sad to hear. I wasn't expecting that. My condolences to his family and friends.

Also I'm pretty sure there's already a thread on this.

Out of respect I believe that you should remove the exclamation point from the title of the thread.

I've always been a PC user and I'm not a huge fan of apple computers... but lets have some respect.

Nothing as solemn as death-by-cancer deserves to be exclaimed.

(Yeah, I know it probably wasn't supposed to come off this way, but when I read it, I got the impression that the OP was excited/happy about this grim turn of events)

Hmmm. Kinda funny this is coming from Apple rather than his family/estate. Anyone else smell a thrilling tale of Corporate espionage?

In all seriousness, this is pretty sad news. I never bought his junk, but I know lots of people who love their Apple stuff. Rest in peace, Jobs.

I think he was the lead producer for "Toy Story" and was Pixar's majority shareholder until Disney bought them out. He was truly a god amongst men.

Expanding on what the last two people said, Steve Jobs co-founded modern-day Pixar Studios when he acquired the "Graphics Group" subdivision from Lucasfilm in 1986.

Also, there are now two threads about this topic and I already posted in the other one, so I'll simply say RIP Steve Jobs, despite popular opinion of you, you did great things for the world of technology.

For some reason this reminded me of in New Vegas when you kill Mr. House and you get the note explaining how he was a genius and revolutionary man, and although I am a PC fan who STRONGLY dislikes Mac I send my condolences,

Expect many more followed by a "What's the hype" thread.

As people have said, condolences to his family and it's sad that a person died, but it doesn't effect me, really.

Pixar is the most stable of all the things he had a hand in. I think he sold his principle stake in it awhile back and was simply a member of the board. As long as John Lassetar is still around Pixar will remain unchanged.

It's Apple which is already showing signs of suffering. Keep in mind that Jobs has been effectively out of the loop for the better part of this year. This weeks iPhone 4s fiasco is a result. Apple has lost its mojo.

Though Steve Jobs was one of the main founders of Pixar as we know it today, he had basically nothing to do with its day-to-day operations. Pixar has been completely in the hands of John Lasseter and the likes for several years now--especially since their new deal with Disney. It will be a great emotional loss, but Pixar will continue to function the same way they always have.
