Stolen/lost property - Did you ever get it back?

Only lost valuables one time that I can remember, but someone left it (my wallet, among other things) with the police, so got it back.

When I was a teenager, I lost my retainer. My aunt found it in her washing machine four years later and returned it to me. It didn't fit anymore.
