Anyway, I agree, Microsoft going for the premium angle doesn't seem like the smartest choice. I thought sony had that angle covered anyway, with it's blue ray and all that?
Phew! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought it was a sapper! I'vve been playing a lot of TF2 and was afraid I was just seeing TF2 everywhere.

...Sorry, I didn't notice. I was distracted by the rotary phone.

This is me complaining.

Yeah, not digging the new wide format, I could deal with it for a few more issues I'm sure, but I strongly prefer the old style. Tis better I believe.

Also, I've yet to get Xbox Live, but I was thinking about getting it for patches and DLC until the price went up...I suppose I don't really need anymore Liara.
I thought patches and DLC were available with Xbox Live Silver (the free version)? I thought the only thing you payed for was being able to actually play online.

Also, I'm with Flig, I like the old style significantly more.

Lastly, I've never understood the whole complaining about verbal abuse on Xbox Live... The only people I ever talk to are my friends, everyone else gets an auto-mute. It's... it's really easy. I've literally never had to deal with whiners/squeakers/idjits/racists etc.

Oh is it? See I haven't even hooked my Xbox up to the internet or whatever you have to do, so I wasn't aware of that...I should probably do that. Thanks for making me aware of this good sir.

ps3 gaming is free for the moment and i find it is a much nicer places because not everybody has a mike.(doesn't a xbox live membership come bundled with one?) also you could mute people and if your to lazy to even do that just plug your headset in then not put it on that way it will come out the little speakers far away form your ears.

The reason for the price hike makes sense.

Considering the Kinect and the ESPN3 stuff that's rolling out in the fall. Guys. It's only two more bucks a month if you're on auto-renewal. 10 more if you just go the yearly route.

Can we please stop bickering about how greedy Microsoft is? k, thnx.

At least you can play online with the PS3 for free.

I'm so glad I don't have to pay that much for Live... I only really use it for playing Gears of War 2 and... well... that's pretty much it.

Oh I'll use it for Reach when that comes out in about... 12 HOURS AND 30 MINUTES!? o_O

Woah lost track of time there... Yeah I know I'm sad, sue me!

EDIT, OT: If they're going to up the price they should seriously consider making Xbox Live pay as you play!

Thing is, XBL costs a hell of a lot to run, with the server costs and admin costs and all sorts of other stuff that needs to be taken into consideration. And it's gone for several years with no price increase, despite inflation. So I think a very small price hike is a decent price to pay for the service that Microsoft puts out, a service that is actually pretty damn good.

Of course people are going to complain that prices have risen. That's because gamers, like everyone else, are hypocritical greedy bastards who want everything handed to them on a plate but complain as soon as they are asked to cough up the money to allow the service or product to be made or developed in the first place. And don't try arguing against that, because it's true. It's the exact same case that every single consumer-based industry has. Everyone wants good quality stuff but they don't want to pay for it, and gamers are no exception (you want proof? Look at the rate of video-game piracy...).

And to those who complain about the Xbox being tainted by the idiotic kids and arseholes calling everyone 'faggots' and ragequitting and whatnot? There's a reason the service has a MUTE button. Maybe you should try using it sometime.
