I'll admit..I'm a loser and a geek
That being said, I'm a huge outcast at school. I had a few friends but even those are starting to desert me. I'm made fun of and ridiculed constantly for such things as reading rather than talking during class when work is done. People will go out of their way to trip me, punch me, and make fun of me. Needless to say I want this to end.
So I'd like to know, what can I do to stop all of this from happening and stop being an outcast.

I have a former friend who has a piece of advice that I truly hate, but the fact is it's so very true, especially for guys. It starts with a piece of personally advice, I don't know you so I can't give you that part but the second part I can, get jacked. I don't know if jacked is a term used everywhere but at my school it means the same thing as buff. The concept is similar to the mafia, if you can't get respect the next best thing is fear, it doesn't matter if you don't like violence the fact that you could kick a bully ass is enough to stop them from pestering you. Trust me, it works well, I've seen some of my friends pull it off.

I've had similar issues in the past, and all I can say is that there is no easy remedy short of switching schools. With me, I just ended up so pathetic looking that no one thought I was worth it anymore. Still trying to fix that mess, let me tell you...

Eventually you will find people who like you for who you are. Probably not the response you were looking for, but the only advice I can give.

Yes don't try to fit into stereotypes. My friend is one of the smartest kids in my school, but also the most popular. He is incredibly athletic and strong as well, so that could go along with what someone else said about getting buffed up.

Whyever would you want to do that? I was an outcast. I still had friends. Just make some good friends who accept you for whatever you are, (for me, it was an incredibly dark and often inappropriate person,) and keep being what you want to be.

Once you are an outcast, you have to get to a new setting.

So your options are to A: live with it or B: move.

Remembered a third option: kick the crap out of a few bullies, at the very least they'll stop hitting you.

I assume you go to a private school? Thats rough, private school are usually full of douche nozzle's. Just keep one thing in mind, don't change yourself to try to fit in, you will never be happy.

I'm so sorry. I'm a nerd, but I go to a nerd school.

However, I was like that in the 8th grade, once you get into high school, it's like a fresh new start. Make good friends, stick with them. Try to socialize, and if you can, try and ignore the dicks.

Just try and socialize.

Bottom line is... school is a *****.
Be yourself dude! Believe it or not, there are others like you.
So what if your not a mainstream sheep. Find people who aren't either.

Just don't let people get to you, but more importantly, don't let them think they're getting to you. If they think it doesn't bother you they'll get bored.

Sometimes it's hard, we've probably all been somewhere like you are now, but things change.
Just be nice to the people that aren't being childish, and you'll probably find they'll like you for who you are, not just some prejudice preconception.

Things will get better, trust me.

I've seen this happen before. just make friends with someone who hangs out with other friends. become friends with those friends, and so on and so on. You will climb up the social ladder in no time. Also join a sport or club. I became friends with a lot of people when i joined football (the American version) and the chess club.

Getting "jacked" is one way to go but at the end of the day is that who you really are? Fact is I'm not really in that boat, I'm a big guy (in size and hgeight not girth) for my age and I'm pretty much the biggest geek I know. I think like a geek, I act like a geek and though the odd time I'm actually lonely. Thing is get some friends that get you, people you dont have to change or compromise for. If you feel you have to then go all "New Guy" go to another school and completely change yourself then do it, but if you cant look at yourself at the end of the day and say that your who you wanna be then you arent being true to yourself.

Graduate and go to college. Then it'll end. Teenagers are all jackasses regardless.

I had similar situation in high school and I would just walk around almost flaunting my individuality. Eventually people started to leave me alone and the teachers respected me.

Unless you get some confidence, and even then it's not guaranteed to help, the bullying is likely to continue.

Be confident in yourself, treasure your true friends and ignore idiots.

.. Man, I sound like an after-school special. Ew.
