Justin was recently bombarded with emails about this video, saying he stole Heavy's song. I don't know if the 'bombardment' was really as much as he claims, but he responded by having his lawyer contact YouTube, who immediately took down the video and banned the user.

Several years ago, a couple of fangirls swiped Justin's hat and bolted with it, later holding it for ransom for a hug. Justin responded by having them arrested and tried for petty larceny.

And he's started flipping off the press.

He's a little punk, and when he stops making his managers so much money, they'll dump him, and he'll have no idea how to function in the real world without them, his fame and supporters, and his lawyer to hide behind.

Fuck him.

I don't hate him, I just think his music is lame as it normally is, you can slow down the vocals speed up the instrumentals and reverse it for some fun listening though.

Also he has funny looking hair, the sheer almost religious zeal of his fans is almost scary at times, and as far as I'm concerned unless I screw with his stuff enough in an editing program it's not listenable to me, so I just kinda listen to stuff I don't have to edit the crap out of to find pleasing to my ears, like, almost anything else...

I don't know much about how he is as a person, and I don't really care enough to want to know, but if he's secretly a decent guy, not spoiled or ruined by his rapid burst of fame/fortune, then by god it'd be a miracle.

Let's see, he's a ten-a-penny upstart with a mop glued to his head which unfortunately doesn't hide his annoying face ( I don't know why, he just looks annoying), there are plenty of other artists who deserve the commercial recognition far more than just another auto-tune generic posterboy and at one point he didn't even know what Germany was.

I just really can't stand this music. I don't (Most Often, at least) go around bitching about him on forums anywhere. I also just find him incredibly irritating. Some of this probably is down to his success for doing something that I don't think ought to get him that much, yes (Oh but don't get me started on the fucking footballers), but I don't really care that much. I just find him irritating. And his fans. Oh god his fans. >_<
is there a like button? :D

I'd like to say it's because I've found a reason to dislike him as a person, but I know nothing about him. I'd like to say I hate him for his music, but I haven't listened to any of it. He just seems to be a regular, ordinary, bland celebrity.

No I hate Bieber for his voice. His high, feminine voice. I'm also jealous of his soft girly features. It's not fair!!!

I don't like his ego, and he comes off as obnoxious to me. But I don't have a problem with him as a person when the previously mentioned qualities aren't being thrown in my face. Even then, I just find him annoying. I don't HATE him by any means.

I dare say I just hate his fanbase.

I'm sure he's a decent kid and all. I just really hate his music and he seems to represent everything I hate in the music industry.

The title was on the front page of the most recent Macleans. Here's the article within, I thought I should share with those who don't subscribe:

I initially had the usual irrational dislike for Justin Bieber described in the article, I changed that over time. First of all, the prejudice is because he has succeeded where most males have not without being hyper-masculine. Secondly, he is young, and people view those younger than them in their own gender to be a threat

Not only that, despite everything people throw at him, he's still standing. I find it quite impressive, and to be quite blunt, its a lot more than most people could put up with. Yet he maintains a sunny disposition. Very admirable.
I don't think its down to jealousy from the people or the fact that justin isn't hyper masculine

Its down to the fact that he isn't talented and yet went so far. Its the same reason so many people dislike Paris Hilton. The reason he got where he is today is down to female tween demographic. Another reason to dislike him is his ego and in addition his commenting on subjects on which he knows nothing about. -See Justin Rape/Abortion Comment-

So Tell me how the dislike is irrational?

As for the still standing comment, give it a few years.

His music is unbearable to listen to and he can some across as a cocky little shit. I don't "hate" him but he's hardly my favorite person ever either. That being said he regained a little of my respect when he did that interview a while back about the political stuffs.

I don't hate him, I hate his audience. Bieber is a completely mediocre singer, yet he receives the fame that only the biggest of talents should have.

He is great comedic fodder for the older generation whom consider his music to be ear piercingly horrible to listen to. When his voice deepens all will be well. Till then, too bad!

plus as far as i know anyone who makes sly remakes at his expense don't hold any real animosity towards him. any that do are just jealous.

wait, why am I supposed to dislike him for being successful and not hyper-masculine? I don't like the kid because his songs have little artistic value, his voice is annoying and waaaay too high for a 17-year old (seriously, my voice was deeper than his at 12), and his fans and public persona are obnoxious and elitist. I don't care that he's not hyper-masculine or anything like that, I'm incredibly far from being hyper-masculine myself.

I hate him because his fans think he's the coolest and best thing in the world, same reason I hate Assassin's Creed.

Well I do find it odd that he does look about 12-14 when he is 16. Also who wouldn't be happy regardless of the hate when you are making that much at such a young age? At that young ages all people usually care about is materialism. Anyway I just hate his music and think there are probably better people out there waiting to be discovered. He just has a ridiculously general sound with no really appeal to it besides that. He has spawned bastardised English words. While not his fault that are still irritating as it just adds to the fact that he is quite over marketed.

He seems to now be trying to be twat...

I try and ignore the guy but that is hard in todays world. I haven't seen much of him (as in interviews etc, not posters etc) but I can definitely see why people see him as arrogant.

I've got a problem with the steady decline in the quality and importance of music over recent years. There has always and there will always be bad music, it's inescapable, but a few years ago even the bad music was tolerable, now it's all bad. Music has become less of an art form and more of a marketing ploy; artists making songs about phones so they can sell more ring tones and singing about going to the club, break ups or finding love since it doesn't require much effort to throw together a bunch of clichés and let a technician put together a backing track.

The Monkees made two movies about this very subject "Head" and "33 1/3 Revolutions Per Second", they wanted to protest their creativity and music being shoehorned into a generic, plastic boy band mold, other artists from then until about midway through the nineties had a similar opinion about what music meant to them like Nirvana, Jack Off Jill and 2Pac; it's a shame that the void they left was filled with such pointless mediocrity.

We're being told to not perpetuate the lack of innovation in gaming by refusing to buy shitty games, this should be the same for music. The only reason people like Katy Perry, Justin Beiber, The Black Eyed Peas, Ke$ha and Mike Posner are putting out crap like this is because people are comfortable with being comfortable and with the advent of Auto Tune you don't even have to be talented to be a pop star any more. There's no personality in anything on the radio, everything is easily interchangeable, no boundaries are being pushed and nobody is morally outraged about it. All these artists do is coast along, it's sad that the last outrage against music I can remember was about Eminem, that was at least a decade ago.

So, to sum up, music has no meaning now. In times past the arguments were usually between people that listened to the music and had a positive deep emotional response and understood the culture and therefore had a deeper understanding of it VS the outsiders who misinterpreted the message and disagreed with it or saw it as a threat to their ideals and way of life.

Now it's people who'll listen to anything as long as it's safe and compromising VS the people who's intelligence it insults.
