Do you ever stop to think about breathing? Then you realise that now you're thinking about it, you stop doing it automatically? Odd that...

I don't believe in either the Big Bang theory or Creationalism. I think it's impossible for there to be an actual beginning to the universe, but we humans are firmly entrenched in the belief that everything must have a beginning, a middle and an end.
and of course the scientist will then proceed to say you are irrational for not accepting what many of them treat as "proven".

and then the priest will then proceed to say you are faithless, and that you need to be saved.

I admire your position.
Thanks! It's nice when someone respects your opinion, instead of trying to shove their own down your throat.

If I have a dream about a person I don't know does that mean that people I have never met have dreams about me?

Scientists do not claim that nothing existed before the big bang. Although Hawking said that it is possible that something can become out of nothing I don't believe that though. I'm more inclined to believe that something always did exist. What that something is I have no idea. I don't believe in god so whatever it is that existed always in my opinion isn't alive, it could be just energy. Life is a different phenomenon that occurs in very specific conditions.
Big Bang was just what caused the expansion of the universe which existed in another form prior to the big bang. Some theories even suggest that Big Bang was a crash of 2 universes. We know that many galaxies exist and that collision of galaxies happened before thanks to gravity. And we can only see 4% of our universe. Knowing that it it perfectly reasonable to assume that our is jut one of many universes that also operate under known laws of physics such as gravity. But Big Bang is a fact. It did happen. And if you knew the science behind it you wouldn't say that you don't believe in it.

No offense to the people posting 37 to infinity and beyond, but I will only ever read the first page of posts until I post my own comments on a topic. And I'm pretty sure no one will read this as I am around post 270 now.

Cheers.

Biologically, it's more difficult to be a girl. Socially, it's more difficult to be a guy. Think about it.

Girls have to deal with menstruation, pregnancy, child birth, more body maintenance (makeup, etc.) all while generally being shorter and weaker than men, on average.

Guys are expected to appear confident even if they're not, never cry or show emotion openly, are often responsible for initiating a relationship (as well as propagating it), compete with other males to be the "alpha male", and automatically lose any court case involving rape or child custody.

Disclaimer: This was all IMO. I realize I made generalizations and there are exceptions to everything I just said.
Your right!! there are exceptions to what you just said. For the guy part especially. I've noticed that lesbians, the butch kind, are a LOT more manlier than me. :p

My and my friend, while stoned, came up with a character called the Bacon President. He was a talking piece of bacon who had somehow become president of the USA. His citizens were constantly trying to eat him, which prompted him to begin a presidential address by saying, "My fellow Americans, please don't eat me. I may be delicious, and salty... and crispy, but please refrain from eating me. I am just like you, I have dreams, hopes and fears, except I am bacon. Let the mind be the measure of the man, not the particular meat from which he is composed, or how delicious that meat is!" The voice I used for him was a bit like Towelie from South Park. We were both crying with laughter by the time someone came in and asked us what we were doing.

My god, we were stoned.

Here's something I think NO ONE said before:

You know when you feel bored? When you're out-of-your-mind, staring-at-walls bored?

It's never, I repeat, NEVER because you don't have anything to do.

Trust me, you have plenty. Boredom is nothing but incapacity to decide where you should begin.

For instance... Let's say you're feeling bored now.

Bullshit. Why, don't you have that work to do? Surely you don't want to do it... What about that game you always knew but really didn't care of playing? Will it hurt to play it now? Oh, and did you actually download that song you were meaning to? And that movie you were supposed to see but never got to it?

...

Okay, maybe that's just with me.

When I was young, a buddy of mine used to invite me over to play LAN games all the time. We played Duke Nukem 3D, Quake (and many modded versions like FvF, Team Fortress, Seals), Command & Conquer, Dark Forces 2... but I looked forward to none so much as our evenings playing Diablo.

Man, Diablo. Beat it over and over. Nothing like making Iron Man characters, willing ourselves to live on whatever we found in the dungeon, never going back to town to sell or ID or any of that stuff. I recall others playing Naked Mages and even Beyond Naked with their cursed items, but that was a little extreme for me. But yeah, spending hours with a simple game, yelling over to your friends to set up tactics to crush your foes... That was a great game, and good times.

Even though I'm a man and cannot be for quite clear biological reasons, I've often wanted to be pregnant. But I don't want children. From a purely metaphysical point of view I'm intrigued by the idea of a sentient being growing inside you and how that must change how you think about yourself because it would no longer be just you inhabiting the body.

I can completely and honestly say that during my first viewing of Inception I had a pretty good idea of what was going on. Anyone who can honestly say that, join the overthinker club.
