Hire Harry Stamper

No but seriously release pressure from the leak by drilling smaller holes and grooves. With the decreased pressure of the releasing oil, apply reverse pressure with a safer liquid or try to cap it. Then of course fill the small holes and grooves gradually while capping the leak.

Or hire Harry Stamper (does anyone remember him?)

You can actually send in your ideas onBP's site.

Anyway, I sent in asking them what would happen if they brought a few molten metal pumps and pumped metal quickly into the hole. I suggested Lead because it would get down pretty deep because of its density and the pumps' pressure. Then cap it with steal so the environment doesn't get screwed by Lead poisoning.

I dont' know what happens to oil when it's super heated underwater.
It's not only super heated, it's also under extreme pressure. Keep in mind the pressure exerted by water at 5000 feet. And the oil is still coming out at thousands of gallons an hour.

The water is replacing the oil as it leaks out, oil is less dense than water so of course it's getting out without a problem. Not only is there pressure behind it, but I think the ocean pressure is making it come out even faster because it's forcing the water down into it as the oil billows out.

I dont' think water could hold oil down.

Do as the soviets used to do it. Nuke it. I'm serious, and it actually worked in most cases. I should think it'd be fairly cheap aswell, compared to the other 'solutions'. Then again, Obama would probably decrease in popularity, damn no good democracy!
Yes do that one. Except they aren't "the Soviets" anymore.

Can't do that, Solid Snake will find Metal gear there. Even if you don't put one there, he will find it. And it will rampage around the plant till it breaks everything.

I think Stephen Colbert had the right idea here.

i say, cut the pipe off and shoot a torpedo down the (not sure what its called) the hole that was drilled to get the oil out. when the torpedo detonates, it will bury the hole, sealing the oil in the dirt like it's been there for millions of years.

Have texas make a new dome to cover the spill, everything is bigger there or so I'm told.

Apparently the new thing the news says will kill us all. My uncle was over during memorial day weekend and was going on about it like it was the fucking apocalypse.

I'm glad I haven't missed anything by shutting out the news and television. Same old shit.
It's actually incredibly serious, it's not a "disaster in the making" it's a disaster that's already happened, alot of fishermen aren't going to have a living down there anymore.

That said, anyone who's worried about any global ramifications or things like that are full of it.

Oh my god, I LOVE that clip.

Well the "TOP HAT" didn't work, so now they are trying the "HOT TAP"

Fight it with anagrams!

Nuke it, simple and pretty effective on shallower wells. Short of that blow it up with C4 or some other type of explosive. Or bring Myron M. Kinley back to life.
