Almost any story I've ever read/watched/played that was halfway decent. I always want to know what happens next; "and they lived happily ever after" doesn't cut it for me.

The disc world books. there will only be one possibly two more books and then that's it. the greatest, funniest, intellectual book series in the world disappears forever.

I also get this feeling every time a good manga ends and the rare occasion when a tv series ends.

I have grown up with One Piece. one chapter every week for years and years but the day is approaching when it will be gone forever and on that day I will probably drink... a lot.

Hitch hiker's guide to the galaxy. I wished the books never ended, they were hilarious
Bad news,if it never ended, the new ones would suck. But then again, you should know the original author died.
That already happened :( Eoin Colfer committed a crime against humanity with his fanfiction garbage masquerading as an official sequel.

OT: Part of me doesn't want WoT or ASoIaF to end. But on the other hand, if they don't ever end, i would go insane.

Full Metal Alchemist, every time I think about how it has ended, I get that sad nostalgia thingy.

Dark Tower Snip

OT: I didn't want Final Fantasy X to end. I really liked the story, and the ending was so fabulous I wished it could continue.

Sometimes it'd better for wishes not to be granted.
Spoiler this, NOW! Seriously dude, that's akin to "giving away" so much of it.

But now I have that feeling once again. Last night I finished book 3 of Avatar: The Last Airbender. I can't get it off of my mind -- and this time I don't have the comfort of knowing it was actually stupid. That show was good. I almost feel bad saying that, considering the primary demographic, or at least the fan base, is about 5 years younger than me and female. Not to mention that it's a Nick show; Nick being a station I treat with increasing contempt. But to be fair, my fandom stared back when the show was new, when I was younger, and when Nick actually played cartoons -- some of which didn't even suck. Anyway, I guess enough of you liked the show that you would understand, or at least won't judge.
I know what you mean, I happened to just watch the series for the first time, it aired here a few years ago, and when my friend talked about it I decided finally to check it out and, wow, it was really awesome (you know, considering the target audience). We don't get that many Nick cartoons here so I have no context to what their shows are now. I can only imagine what the series would have been if it didn't have to be so kid friendly...Anyway, as of now, Avatar is my favourite cartoon series ever, heh.

So to help my with this feeling of needing more I....kinda read a few ( a lot) of ATLA fanfics for some more story, mostly post-ending. I don't read fanfics normally, like ever, but this was something different. There are some surprisingly good ones out there. Sorta satisfied now, though I'm waiting for the new series, Avatar: The Legend of Korra, with great interest. And patience, must have patience.

More OT: Has anyone played Monster Rancher (monster rancher 2 for US I think). One of my favourite games ever, you can literarly play it forever as it doesn't have a set end. So much fun gathering monsters from actual CD-disks you can let the game scan and then raise your monster to be the most epic monster ever, muhahaa...ahem.
Kinda same with Jade Cocoon. Fun RPG with a system where you can combine monsters like in monster rancher to make new, really weird and strong monsters. I recommend these games to everybody, heh. They can distract you for a looong time.

The Wheel of Time.

Got you there, didn't I? Every story needs closure, and a spectacularly abrupt final book in my opinion is better than 6 more books with the same story dragged a bit longer.

But I do love me some WoT.
Also, I don't think The Wheel of Time has been even translated all the way here, I really want to read it to where it really is now...maybe I should hunt the English version somewhere eventually.

That was one of those things I read on the basement computer in the middle of the night. Guilty pleasure. The little black haired girl won my sympathy instantly. Though I only ever read the first few chapters or so.

Firstly:

When I was like 8, my friend promised to give me his copy of this game, but he never did. I wanted it SOOO bad, but I couldn't remember what it was called and he got rid of all his playstation stuff... I honestly thought I'd never hear a word about it again. I might actually be able to get it now. Thank you!

Anyway. Yeah, back when I was watching this series the first time, I got heavily involved in fanfics for it. (This was another thing I did on the basement computer in the middle of the night. I still wouldn't dare tell most people I know that I ever took part in such a thing.) I even wrote a few of my own for fanfiction.net. There were two really brutal ones -- my favorite involved Katara dehydrating a dude and crushing him with an icy ball of his own bodily fluids -- one sexy one (or maybe I just wrote that one in my journal), and one that was supposed to be a huge epic that I ended up only writing a chapter or two for. I bet they're still there... huh. Youth...

Last night I went back and read a few more. Mostly fluffy Kataang one shots. Funny, I'd almost forgotten how bad they were....

Firstly, heh: My first internet cake, yay.

Secondly: I can't believe how Jade Cocoon has become such a unknown game, I consider it as one of the best PS1 games ever. But still, good to know some people remember it, good luck in finding it anywhere these days though. I don't personally have it, but I can always borrow from a friend who doesn't have a habit of disposing of his classic games. Lucky!

Also: I have been been introduced to "shipping" fics partly because of searching some good ATLA fanfics. I'm still following if a few of my favourite ones have updated once in a while. I might have some...interest in certain pairings, but wow, what some people are capable of writing...Hahahahaha.

...And just because I'm feeling a bit curious, ever went back to check if people liked your fanfics and maybe wanted more? It never hurts to discover you might have a thing for writing decent fiction, even if just for fun. I mean, I'd kinda like to write some stuff of my own, but just...no, just no, couldn't put anything coherent together to save my life. Well, atleast my writing isn't as bad as the many apparently age-12 kids that seem to write so many (horrible) fanfics have.

"Oh Zuko, come fetch me a towel so I can get out of the bath."

"Goodness Uncle, your shoulders look so strong..."

*70s funk guitar plays*

And then there are the ones where the characters exist in our universe and go to high school for some reason. Or one of the characters starts cutting. But the worst fics are the ones where the author constantly jumps into the story to explain shit or make comments in all caps and emoticons ( AN: FUCK YOU ZUKO XD XD XD ). Yeah... I liked that site. The members were half-retarded monkeys, but they were very supportive. You might not be able to write something really great, but it won't be the worst thing there, and somebody'll like it. I think you should try it. I had a lot of fun at the time -- and as I recall it taught me how to type at more than 5 words a minute. Fun fact.

You know, I would like to go back and find my old stories. I remember a few months ago I got an e-mail from the site. Someone had praised one of the brutal ones. I forgot my old login though... I'll figure it out.

I have rarely seen so much hilarious, provoking and downright disgusting writings of my favourite characters when I dug through the avatar fanfic archives. Quite the experience...

And well yeah, Sturgeon's Law is very much in effect there. So much utter shit, but if you dare to dig deep enough, you will find some truly amazing writing AND I see people actually have constructive points and criticism. I might find the courage to submit some of my own stuff for review...maybe, one of these days, heh.

Good luck with the account, maybe you will find some inspiration to do more stories.

I will now stop bothering you with quotes, I just felt a bit restless and bored today...I think I'll go and rewatch the show or browse the TVtropes page for the series, either way you won't hear from me for the rest of the day atleast, hahaha.

The one involving me and Zooey Deschanel spending our lives in bed together.

It would become a movie, and me and Zooey would be cast.
It would only be available online though if you catch my drift.

Ahem, final quote, seriously. Just wanted to say, you're welcome, I don't get people thanking me on the net usually...ugh that sounded a bit sad, haha, moving on. I try to be friendly on the internet, especially with stuff I have similar interests in. I tend to get a bit zealous when people quote me though, must.answer.back.

Almost to Tropes I-P, must press on!

Deadwood. Not that I never want it to end I just want it to have an ending that wraps up all of the 3 seasons story lines instead of that weird ending where it just stopped without a real conclusion.

The neverending story?

No, I'm kidding. Although that's a pretty good book, it ends well enough despite it's title.

I don't think I can come up with any story that I literally wouldn't want to see an end to, but there's been some where the ending was a little awkward.

And other's here have reminded me that The Hitchhiker's guid to the galaxy was definitely one of them.
